Welcome to another week of Cosplay goodness!

This week we’re featuring Mel aka WindoftheStars.

Mel is a professional seamstress who has been cosplaying since 2004. In that time she’s made more than 60 costumes and has won over 20 awards for her work. She’s also been both a guest of honor and cosplay judge at multiple conventions and fan events.

In addition to making costumes for herself, she also designs for other people and even sells some of her creations via Etsy.

More of Mel’s work can be seen on her website where she has also posted tutorials for people wanting to get into making their own costumes.

You’ll notice that a few of the pictures are not of Mel, but all the costumes are ones she has made.

  Because a lot of people enjoy it. We know not everyone does, but if we only put up stuff that everyone liked, we wouldn’t be putting up any content at all.

    I don’t expect Gamebreaker to pander to my personal likes. I just don’t see where sexy anime chicks fit to THIS gaming site. There are anime-centric sites (even hosted by Gamebreaker staff) just for that. Every link at the top of Gamebreaker points to games. Not one of them leads to anime. While the cosplay girls are easy on the eyes, it cheapens Gamebreaker. I may be in the superminoriry and I expected to be flamed for sharing this opinon. But I gave it anyway.

      Cosplay has quite a bit to do with video games and gamer culture. 3 out of the 7 images we featured in the video were from video games.
      
      This feature doesn’t cheapen the site, but rather add an extra layer of gamer/geek culture to it.
      
      And, while anime is not our main focus, we have begun doing features on anime such as Schaffnit’s A-List.
      
      The simple fact is, many viewers enjoy the hits and we enjoy doing them. If they’re not something you enjoy, that’s cool. We have plenty of other content for you to look at.

        I’m afraid you have me confused as to your meaning here. A-List is a part of Gamebreaker and was created to be another part of our lineup. It’s not a separate entity.

      This is like complaining you hate the taste of fish at a restaurant, ordering it, eating it, complaining about it the whole time you’re chewing, then bitching at the manager that they serve fish on a menu filled with all of your favorite food that you didn’t order.

      So what you’re saying is that if you’re a girl and into anime and cosplay, that automatically makes you a slut? Wow, I guess standards have changed alot since I was younger. Anywho, there’s an old saying, “Different strokes for different folks.” There are alot of ppl out there that have alot of varied interests, I applaud Gamebreaker for trying it’s hardest to tailor their content to appeal to those varied interests. If you don’t like what’s on this link, then you have the option to click on another. That’s what’s so great about this site, you don’t have to watch this link if you don’t want to.

I love the Lina Inverse from Slayers costume (even less well know anime in US than Sailor Moon ) Awesome outfits. It would be great if you ever get interviews with these talented folks.

Technically in He Is My Master the guy is a pervy rich kid who hires the girls to be his actual maids, and they want nothing to do with him (gross simplification).

Q fail; that is sexy maid and maid is not gothic lolita.

I have been trying to find some hunky blokes that cosplay but cant find any! Lots of very pretty ladies out there with some amaaaaazing costumes. Maybe you should do a cosplay hit about male cosplayers, see if there are any sexy skyrim style guys or something lol ;o)

Now, we’ve seen so many cosplayers published here. When will the GBTV Crew show themselves in their favourite outfit? We’ve already seen Mike S. a couple of times in that lovely dress, this kinda counts but where’s the rest? I guess we can wait till helloween?
