Since the launch of GAMEBREAKER 2.0, we’ve been bringing you weekly galleries full of cosplay greatness.
As it turns out, I’m a huge fan of cosplay. It’s one of my favorite things about conventions.
I’ve met amazingly talented cosplayers who not only make the costumes and props beautifully but who also actually play the characters they’re dressed as perfectly. It’s always a treat to meet these people and I love looking at all the pictures of cosplayers online. There are so many I’ll never get to meet.
So, while I’m sure many of you are happy peeking at the pictures, I thought you might also enjoy knowing who some of these people are and why we think they’re so great.
With that in mind, I give you my first hand-picked gallery including my top five images of the week. Keep in mind the top five are in no particular order.
They’re just my five favorite over all.
And, whenever possible, I will be linking back to the cosplayer or photographer in question so you can check out more about them.
First up are a cosplay team playing the Big Daddy and Little Sister from BioShock. I’m uncertain as to the actual cosplayers, but the image was shot by Dim Horizon Studio at the Georgia Aquarium to get the Rapture feel. The costumes are stunning and the photography really does make it feel like I’m looking at Rapture.
Next is Nina Gyaboo playing Shana from Legend of Dragoon. Everything she is wearing is something she made. And again, real effort was put into making the picture look like it might have come from the game. Look at that moon.
Sadly… even though I looked around, I’m not sure who this next girl is, but she is a stunning Samus. She even took the time to bloody up her armor.
My next pick isn’t from a game but is from one of my favorite manga of all time: Clover. The cosplayer — who goes by Yayacosplay — on Deviant art is playing the character Oruha.
She broke out a Cher wig for this.
And finally, this guy has been a favorite of mine for a while. I’m a sucker for steampunk and I love the X-Men. So this functional steampunk Professor X chair made by Daniel Valdez is amazing to me.
Did I mention it dispenses vodka?
