Dignitas Looks to Claim 2nd Seed from CLG.NA at MLG Summer Championship
3 Comments

The MLG Summer Championship is right around the corner, Summoners! 12 teams  will be competing this weekend for coveted circuit points and a shot to make it into the PAX Regionals.

Having said that, notable favorites Team SoloMid and Counter-Logic Gaming Prime have opted not to participate in the tournament.  With guaranteed spots at PAX, both the #1 and #2 ranked teams have instead decided to focus all of their attention on the upcoming regional tournament.

#3 seed Team Dignitas has other things in mind.  Top lane player Alberto “Crumbzz” Reginfo shared his team’s mentality:

Although MLG Raleigh will not contain our most important competition, TSM and CLG, this does not mean that we will not be playing at our best. With Regionals around the corner, pulling a win in MLG gives us enough circuit points to pass CLG and obtain a different seeding for PAX, one that may very well benefit us. We have high expectations for our results in the event, especially after the time in Korea, which should have improved our skills, to better than most NA teams.

Indeed, after witnessing the devastation that is Azubu Blaze during the Summer Arena, no one can deny that Korea is a force to be reckoned with in League of Legends.  Having trained extensively in the region, it will be interesting to see what tactics Dignitas has up their sleeves for this weekend.  Although TSM and CLG won’t be there, Dignitas will still have to contend with favorites such as Curse, mTw.NA, and Team Dynamic.  It should also be noted that this will be the team’s first major LAN tournament with new support Justin “Patoy” Blackburn, who replaced L0cust back in July.

But the question: is it wise to reveal any strategies pre-regionals at all?

The Summer Championship kicks off this Friday, August 24th at 2pm PST.  Let us know who’s going to take the tournament in the comments below!
