Summoners!
As you may remember, Riot has been making some big noise about their upcoming Honor System.
Well, as of today, this system is now live!
A polar opposite to the Tribunal, the system allows players to award others for being friendly, helpful, or being an all around good team member.
The same goes for opponents – if you meet an enemy who is respectful in victory or defeat, you can now give them their due credit as well. Simply click the green “thumbs up” button in the post-game lobby after a matchmaking game (Custom games not included) to honor both friends and foes.
Each Summoner is granted a limited amount of honor to spend initially, but the amount can then be replenished as players complete matchmaking games.
However, it should be noted honor is not a currency; having honor does not allow players to spend it for any sort of in game reward. Instead, honor is used more like a symbol of reputation among your fellow Summoners and will help distinguish true followers of the code.
The amount of honor a player receives will also depend on who is honoring them. The system is designed specifically to award players for consistently being helpful team members with a large amount of other players. As such, players will always receive the most amount of honor when it is given by someone they’ve just met.
