Summoners!
Riot knows just how much we all love upping our game. And watching streams from the pros and other community members has become an invaluable asset towards those goals.
Plus, it’s always fun watching league matches!
With that in mind, Riot has released an exciting new service unto the League: the Streamer Portal.
This new feature found on the League of Legends website allows the company to give us what we’ve always wanted – all League, all the time. This new service allows Riot to feature more streamers on a daily basis as opposed to the weekly ones we’ve been seeing recently.
And while the Streamer Portal will obviously still feature some of the most well known players, it will also show off new up and coming stars. In addition, only players who embody the true sense of The Summoner’s Code are accepted into the program – ragers and trolls need not apply.
But you know what I think is the coolest feature about the Streamer Portal? It’s not limited to just showing off high ELO matches. Check out this little gem Special Projects Manager Kyr0 listed on the portal’s official forum post:
“Players of all Elo ranges and skill sets are welcome in our program. For instance, if you’re a shoutcaster interested in joining the ranks of League of Legends commentators, your stream will have a different flavor than others. The content your stream [and] bringing to your viewers is much more important than your Elo.”
Looks like I’ll be tweaking my home studio in the near future!
In truth, there is a ton of information regarding the Streamer Portal and all of its features. I highly recommend browsing through the FAQ for a more in-depth look. Or head on over to the page here and experience it first hand!
Are you excited? I sure am.
See ya on the Fields of Justice!
