Sick of seeing the same old Summoners Rift every single day?
Well, that’s about to change with the upcoming League of Legends Patch! That’s right! Summoners Rift is getting a complete visual overhaul. According to Riot, the update will not only make it more visually appealing, but will also help players playing at lower graphic settings to get better frame rates.
A new Hud is being implemented as well, which will include better text, new icons, and better looking art. A minion kill count is also being added next to you Kills, Deaths and Assist corner of the game.
Summoners Rift isn’t the only one getting a touch up. Ashe, The Frost Archer signed up for the complete body treatment upgrade. In the upcoming patch Ashe will have new animations, particles, splash art, voice over and a new model. So remember to compliment Ashe on her striking good looks next time you see her.
Besides the visual updates, you will also notice some slight gameplay changes. Turrets will now be easier to “read”. I’m pretty sure there are plenty of spacey Summoners out there who have taken some serious turret damage because they can’t tell they are being hit. Hopefully this turret update can help. Whenever you are focused by a Turret you will now hear a sound and your champion will immediately get an icon above its head. This is the turret’s nice way of saying “Hey! I’m poking you! Go away!”
For those ranked players out there, you will be happy to hear that the free to play champions are being removed from ranked solo and duo games. So you wont have to worry about a Summoner trying out a new champion in ranked games anymore.
Normal draft games are seeing a change as well.
In the past, premade groups always got priority, which meant that one member of the premade always got the captain slot, which gives that Summoner ban rights and first pick. Also the Summoners not in premades would always get bottom picks after the premade players. Now everyone will get a 20 percent chance to obtain the captain slot, instead of it always being one of the members of the premade group.
In addition, the pick order will be randomize to avoid those players not in premades always getting the bottom picks. If multiple players group up, the host of the game will receive all his/her teammates chances to become captain. So if you get a four player group together and are the host, you in turn get an 80 percent chance of being the captain.
A new item is also being introduced to the game.
Chalice of Harmony is finally going to have end game value. Chalice of Harmony will now build into Athene’s Unholy Grail, which will give ability power, cooldown reduction, magic resist and mana regeneration. So those mana hungry champions who are forced to get Chalice of Harmony can now get a useful late game item.
Another set of amazing changes. Now all we have to do is wait to see this fantastic new Field of Justice.
