While League of Legends has only been around for a bit over two years, the MOBA genre has been around longer. Needless to say, players have always fiddled around with formulas to create different subgenres of games that have become popular. One such subgenre includes the concept of ARAM (All-Random-All-Middle).
Riot Games have developed a new map called ‘Proving Grounds‘ which was made available on LoL’s public beta environment for testing. The map was scheduled to be released on June 20th alongside the last patch, but Riot has had to delay its release due to some concerns with platform stability. Although it isn’t currently on the live servers, it will still be playable on the PBE and can be accessed when creating custom games.
The map itself is a modified version of the tutorial map, with modifications to gameplay similar to that of Dominion (increased gold/experience rate, unavailable items, etc.). Riot has also made various tweaks in response to player feedback on the PBE server, but we will have to wait before we can test this out on the live servers.
