Riot Pushes Another Sneak Peek for Varus, the Arrow of Retribution

Riot introduces a Centa… wait what?

Didn’t we just announce a champion this week? We sure did, and it appears Riot has sneak peeks of multiple upcoming champions. So, right on the heels — or maybe riding on the back of — Hecarim, Riot has showcased another combatant coming to League of Legends:

Varus, the Arrow of Retribution.

This time, the sneak peek includes a bit of lore and art from Tycho and Gabe from Penny Arcade. What’s clear from the art is that our new champion is going to be a damage dealer of some sort.

In the art on display as well as the lore, a bow is prominent. But what I find interesting is his reference to a lack of shape. It talks about how his body is covered in something trying to find form.

What we can gather so far is that Varus is vengeful, but the method in which he pursues this vengeance is vague.

Stay tuned to GAMEBREAKER and we’ll keep you up to date as more information becomes available.

A funny thing to complain about, but the commerical are broken and green (like a bad video codec).  The content videos look great.

I was confused that Varus is being revealed before they released Hecarim.

Please for the love of God get into the Dota 2 Beta and start covering that game. It is to the Moba scene what Guild Wars 2 is to the MMo scene. I was fanatical in my devotion to LoL and purchased every character through to fiona, but since I got my Dota 2 invite I havn’t played anything else it’s really an amazing technical achievement every game I have ever played and I’m in the hundreds atm is recorded on Valve’s  system and can be watched with the games playback director mode.  The graphics are great the balancing is great the matchmaking is fun. The pro scene may not be as infamous as the million dollar  LoL payouts your seeing atm but  pro teams like Na’Vi and Darer are amazingly fun to watch and to be frank Dota is the original and all things considered a much better game once you put the time in and convert your skillset from LoL. I have 2 free invites on my steam account if you guys somehow can’t get press invites. Seriously you guys need to be covering this game yesterday. If you need a connection to the scene to help go look up Purge gamers or Sunsfan at Dota cinema Purge does amazing comentary of Pro matches and would make a good addition to the Gamebreaker family if you could get him onboard.

This is like Ari. They revealed her then revealed and released like 3 champions (Graves at least, I think). So It hasn’t been THAT long since they’ve done this before, broski.

Well, that’s accurate however, what’s different is they released the Hecarim sneak peak two days later released the Varus sneak peak. With ahri she had her sneak peak a LONG time ago then they never released her. Also, if you check the League website it says that the patch notes are Hecarim’s patch notes not Varus. That’s the difference I was getting at.
