Summoners,

As you may recall, word on the street is that professional eSports team Curse may be undergoing roster changes following their defeat at the NA regional qualifier at PAX.

A number of sources had indicated that there may be a switch up between Top Laner Westrice, Support player Elementz, and newcomer Salce.  But with an additional member added into the mix, this left many wondering who would be the starting 5 for the team.

It was with this in mind that Curse team manager LiQuiD112 released an official statement late last week to clarify the situation:

“I know many of our fans have been curious and concerned about the team’s future regarding our roster. On behalf of the team, we appreciate your patience, but after PAX NA Regional Championship we needed some time to watch replays, talk as a team and decide what would be the best course of action to deliver the best results in the Season 3 qualifier and beyond. Our objective as a team is to deliver the very best performance we can for our fans and ourselves.

Like many team sports such as football, baseball and soccer, there are members [on] a team that are starters and non-starters; however, the way we see it – is that every person regardless of position – is a member of the team and plays an important role. We have decided at this time that Westrice will continue to be a main starter on Team Curse.

In that same vein we are also very excited to announce that Salce will be joining Team Curse. He will start off as a non-starter, however with that being said we feel it is important to give Salce LAN experience with the team and because of this, Salce will be playing WEM in Hangzhou on October 22nd – October 26th. After this time, Salce will continue to practice and participate as an active member of the team.

I will continue to develop the members of the team to their full potential (analyzing their performances, instructing relevant skills and providing encouragement) and the starters and non-starters on the team may change at any time I feel it is for the betterment of the team…”

So, essentially there is no change to the standard Curse line up.  Rather, Salce will be supplementing the current roster.

Is this the right move for Curse?  Do you think they need to revamp their strategy or stay the course?  Let us know your thoughts below!

Westrice is a detriment to their team. He pretends like the tournaments are solo q. He seems to get caught in lane while a team fight is organizing in another. They need a teammate that knows when to farm and when to group.

Westrice is very good actually. If any member of the team was weak it would be Elementz as his support play can be spotty. But sometimes its very good. The biggest issue with Westrice is that he doesn’t have a enough champions mastered. He needs to work on adding a few more that he can play at a high level to his arsenal. Salce is a good player, but after seeing both of them play quite a bit, Westrice is definitely better. Either way this only helps Curse, having a top level bench player is a huge bonus cause sometimes things come up and you need a replacement for a starter.
