IPL4 in Vegas has been an amazing weekend cementing its place in eSports history.
The StarCraft 2 title was taken by the Korean Terran, aLive.
The entire tournament has been one to remember. With so many big names, we have been gifted with a weekend of nothing but jaw dropping action.
The Open Bracket provided us with Scarlett, the Canadian Zerg who smashed pass DeMusliM and took the fight to Oz becoming the first female StarCraft player to cause a storm.
The foreign scene had only Stephano fighting towards victory as every other notable foreigner fell way before the first yard stick. IdrA and WhiteRa failed to win a single match in their respective groups.
NesTea returns, with him slaying nerds left, right and center. The three time GSL Champion showed he is still a fighting force in the world, even though many people had cast him aside after a recent loss of form.
The finals — as always — were the highlight of the event.
A clash of the titans between two juggernauts: StarTale_Squirtle and Fnatic.aLive.
After crashing past MKP and MMA, Squirtle was on the way to take the title and nobody thought aLive had a chance to stop him.
But my god we were wrong.
These were finals that people will be thinking about for a long time — the Daybreak and Metropolis games are still flashing through my mind. Both slugged it out over the double BO5 but in the end, after trailing through the open bracket, Squirtle ran out of gas.
aLive take first place and $40,000, as another Terran takes a top tournament.
