Red Bull have moved further into the StarCraft 2 scene once again, their latest tournament endeavour?
The Red Bull Battlegrounds.
Red Bull have had previous SC2 events, like the recent Red Bull LAN 1 that was a success, but haven’t had actual big name tournaments.
Red Bull Battlegrounds will be a $41,000 tournament featuring some of the biggest names in StarCraft 2 at the moment.
The pros already announced are PartinG, Stephano, Bomber, TaeJa, Polt, GanZi, White-Ra, HuK, viOlet, and the last Red Bull LAN winner, Ret.
Easily the biggest names in StarCraft 2 right now and there are more to come to fill out the other six slots.
Who else could be in this event?
It already features these massive players and three amazing casters in Day[9], djWHEAT and Husky.
We are more likely than not going to see Code S calibre players join this line-up, expect top foreign tournament go-ers such as MC, MarineKing and possibly high quality foreigners.
The fact that Red Bull have moved heavier into StarCraft 2 is great. A company that have heavy routes into everything like extreme sports — like Skateboarding’s Tampa Pro — we now see them taking it up with the latest phenomenon:
