wow nice bronze match you guys have there played in the bg.
to the topic
there are a lot of infos regarding this topic.and this has already been talked to death
you guys should inform better about such things or let it be.
and just tell people about tournaments when they happened and who won.
let the drama stuff be covered by people involved deeply in the community and who know what they are talking about. there is show with team founders that only talk about the business side of esports. there are 2 shows only talking about sc2 and drama and there is one other show where they talk 80% of the time about sc2.

i just dont see this thing here as a quality product and beside that its not being needed at least from the sc2 community.

i would rather see other stuff from you guys.like more gw2 stuff :D

If they can make money off of it, then by all means. I don't think MLG is as big as the NBA, however, so I can't see how following their lead is the wisest of decisions.

i did not pay to watch the winter arena nor will I pay for any other event. There is so much quality SC2 avaliable arround the clock for free that it seems foolish to me to fork out for this event, it's nothing special.
I also think the cost is too high anyway, this is not wrestlemaina (which i dislike anyway :-p) My entertainment is gaming and for 15 dollors a month I have well over 40 hours of content avaliable.

Ok, so let's say I'm not super into esports, but I may have some sort of interest. Why would I ever pay $20 to watch an MLG event if I wasn't already super into it? Basically, all that this does is segregate the existing fan base from the rest of the gaming community, and prevent future growth of esports, at least when it comes to interest in MLG events. In my opinion, this is a really stupid move for the future health of esports.

I can definitely see and understand this from a business perspective and I can't really be disgusted with this, but that's mainly due to me never watching these events or paying for them to begin with. However, from a consumer perspective this is just going to be seen as greedy and milking the viewers for all they are worth, which in a way they are. Whether or not this plan of theirs succeeds depends on how it is received by the viewers. This could become an opportunity for a better business model or it can backfire and we will see people not buying their ppv tickets.

For me personally, I can't see myself paying for this. I enjoy some esports but I can get my entertainments worth for free. There are plenty of people who stream or do their own videos with stuff I find entertaining and all I have to do is sit through some ads. So why pay for it to start with is my mentality.
