The next stage of the Global StarCraft 2 League’s Code S is apon us as the Round Of 32 concludes.
The second week of the RO32 provided us foreigners with someone to cheer for.
NaNiwa.
The Swedish Protoss stormed past SlayerS teammates Puzzle and Ryung to take the top spot in the group and progress to the RO16. He’s the first foreigner to advance in Code S after being awarded the seed, as both IdrA and Sen fell from Code S in Season One.
The other players joining NaNiwa aren’t as surprising, names such as MVP and MC are always dead certs to advance. Even though they faced players that have potential to take out champions, they still moved forward.
Once again Code S showcased the fact it is the most competitive tournament in the world.
NesTea, MMA and Polt all failed to advance.
Previous GSL Champions not making it deep into Code S is always an upset, but when you see who they were beaten to the finish line by, it’s no surprise.
Polt was taken down by PartinG, the PvT master in a group that saw once again oGs.Fin fall even though the world thought he would be the next big thing. NesTea fell at the hands of MC and Virus.
Virus highly impressed with his play after failing to rack up big results in the past. MMA drops to Leenock and Squirtle.
This season we have seen five of the seven champions fall into Code A. However the people standing above them defiantly deserve to be there as Code S shows us how competition in Korea is so close.
