It has been confirmed!
Playable Heart Of The Swarm at MLG Spring Championship in Anaheim!
In an announcement today, MLG revealed that they will have playable HotS on public stations at their event in Anaheim this June.
This announcement is huge for StarCraft 2 fans, after recent news that Blizzard have made massive changes to the multiplayer, now we have a playable build ready for us in as little as two months.
As stated in a previous article, it seemed that Spring Championship was set to be amazing already with both HotS and Brood War pros in attendance.
Recently something else has come to life for this event.
As I confirmed, BW pros will be in attendance and MLG_Adam – in the announcement thread on TeamLiquid.net — added a few cryptic posts. Claiming that people had good ideas and it “sounds awesome” for a HotS show match on stage and it should involve Brood War pros.
Usually when MLG officials post cryptic things like this is a massive giveaway — like Sundance on the USA Nations partnership on Reddit — so I am willing to bet my HotS box that there will be some form of show match involving both HotS and BW pros.
When you think about this logically, it makes lots of sense.
Players making the BW – SC2 transition will not want to waste their time playing Wings Of Liberty with HotS so close. They will 100% be focusing on making that their transition period rather than working around builds that will be nul and void when the expansion drops.
I may be wearing my tin-foil hat, but one thing is for sure:
Heart Of The Swarm is on its way.
