vVv Gaming announces its decision to dissolve its Starcraft 2 team

US based gaming team vVv Gaming have announced their plans to dissolve their Starcraft 2 division, with immediate effect.

Now, this shouldn’t come as a surprise to the community, after all, when was the last time you heard of a vVv player heading into a major tournament? It’s not as if they have had any large success with the team in the two years it was formed.Yet, no team dissolving would be right without a mild case of drama and miscommunication, right? Well you’re in luck! It seems the story that vVv are telling doesn’t necessarily match how players recall how the events transpired.

Jana BabyToss Otahalova released her own comments and statement on the matter;
Well, the truth is, the division as a whole agreed to leave vVv due to lack of visible support from upper management, which was always busy with LoL community inhouses and other stuff, and SC2 was just a bother to them. Alas, here goes my statement, why I and the others decided to leave”

Following this Jared ’Hiei’ Scruggs gave his opinion further lending credibility to the BabyToss’s comment;
The excuse we were given from upper management was “they were spread too thin” and focusing on other projects. It just so happens that all of those projects focused on LoL. I’m fine with that, if that’s their passion, go for it. But when other people within the SC2 community want to step up and get things rolling, because upper management doesn’t is dragging their feet, the community members were constantly getting shut down, or sometimes not even addressed at all.”

Needless to say, these claims that vVv Gaming has been focusing its efforts on the League of Legends side is likely to ruffle a few feathers. Every pro-gaming team should know that in order to be a success, you cannot afford to spread your resources so thin and show a clear favoritism. With vVv’s League of Legends team also showing no real fruition, the question now has to be, was the decision worth it?

The full statements from the players can be found here. We wish the players the best of luck in their future endeavours.

    It seems vVv Gaming has been going downhill for sometime now, not a big surprise and probably a smart one for the Sc2 division.

    vVv may have a couple above average players at best – but a bulk of their players I’ve come across in various settings (including SC2) are quite terrible – seems like they let anyone wear their tag, which was probably a mistake from the beginning.
