Nerds around the world unite! The time has come that our skills are the keyboard are seen as a great addition to some colleges!
Provided by the Collegiate StarLeague, a great inter-college StarCraft 2 league that provides weekly StarCraft 2 content featuring some of the biggest colleges in the US.
The Duran Parsi Excellence in eSports Award grants $1,000 a year to two undergraduates. To apply you need to submit a video about you and your eSports goals.
This is amazing news for eSports and colleges in general!
The eSports community is actively promoting people to go to college and still be able to pursue their eSports dreams. There is such a division in the scene where some people have gambled to get onto the scene and some who stuck it out — such as Day[9], Spanishiwa – to gain that vital qualification for later in life.
Finally people will be going to colleges for eSports, the CSL features colleges such as: Ivy League Harvard and even colleges with football teams synouomous to their names such as MIT, Virginia Tech, Florida State and more.
Maybe one day the StarCraft 2 team could parade around the town at MIT as they take the top prize of best college SC2 team in the US.
For now I’m so glad to see eSports move in a highly positive direction, that isn’t for itself but for all the people dedicating themselves fully to the cause.
