Dreamhack Invitational Stockholm — aka The Ezio Open – is almost here.
Europe’s creme de la creme of eSports is about to kick off its 2012 season and it’s starting big.
The biggest news is that Dreamhack will be broadcast on national television!
Swedish broadcasting company SVT will be out in force at Dreamhack this year, primarily streaming to SVT Play but also to terrestrial networks that will reach television sets across Sweden.
The event will be broadcast over the weekend and is sure to gives hours of great StarCraft 2 viewing.
Unfortunately, we have already lost two of the front runners for the tournament. IdrA and JYP were unable to make it due to illness, but this hasn’t taken the talent away from Dreamhack.
The roster is still packed with amazing names such as: Bischu, Polt, Puma, Snute, MorroW, ThorZaIN and the man of the moment:
NaNiwa.
Everyone’s eyes are fixed on NaNiwa this weekend. Taking himself into the RO8 in the GSL Code S and securing a second season of Korean top flight competition impressed everyone — including himself. He has the most momentum behind him and taking the fight to Dreamhack on home turf could be even more of a momentum booster for the Swedish Protoss.
The caster lineup is also set to give us a great weekend.
Fan favorites Apollo, Wolf and iNcontroL will be providing a great weekend’s casting that is sure not to let us down.
Tune into a weekend of great StarCraft 2 and stay tuned to GAMEBREAKER on Monday, when we will sum up all the action.
