MLG Spring Arena 1 isn’t over yet and the Spring Championship is already set to blow everything else out of the water.
Today Blizzard and MLG have announced a collaboration for the StarCraft 2 World Championship USA National Finals to be hosted at the MLG Spring Championship in Anaheim.
The event was already set to be amazing just for the fact that everyone marks their calendars for the MLG Championships, but now we have StarCraft-ception.
A tournament within a tournament.
If you want to attend this event as a competitor and shoot for national glory, Playhem are hosting the national qualifiers, so get yourselves into practice mode if you feel like competing.
If that’s not enough to swing you to Anaheim, it was announced by MLGs Adam Apicella — in passing — that StarCraft: Brood War pros will be attending along with a possible Heart Of The Swarm attendance as well.
Needless to say that this is huge!
The Brood War pros have all been playing SC2 recently in anticipation for the inevitable switch. Its a storm on the horizon for current pros; when you see Flash, Jaedong and Bisu, it’s going to cause a shiver to run down your spine.
Heart Of The Swarm’s “attendance” at Anaheim could be a factor of many things, it may not be a playable version — even though that’s the most obvious — it could just be a Blizzard representative announcing something big or even a mini-Blizzcon.
Spring Arena may begin today, but I’m counting down the days until the MLG Spring Championship.
