So I hear some of you enjoy anime.
Yeah, me too. I’m actually a tiny bit obsessed with it. So, when I saw this bit of news the tiny anime nerd (I wanted to use “otaku” here but that would be assuming everyone’s up on the lingo) living in my head ran around screaming in joy.
Are you ready for this? You sure?
Free to play video game developer / publisher Nexon — known for games like Dragon Nest, Vindictus and Mabinogi — has an agreement with publishing company Kodansha to make an online game based on Ghost in the Shell: STAND ALONE COMPLEX.
I know what you’re thinking… Free to play… But! It’s Ghost in the Shell!
Okay.. I’ll try to pull it in a bit since no details on what the game will be like have been released other than GitS being the source material. So for all I know at this point they could decide to go obscenely cute with it and “chibi” the characters up similar to those in MapleStory.
Here’s hoping it’s appropriately dark and serious.
On a side note, for those of you who may not be huge anime junkies but are interested in finding some good ones to watch (or read if you’d like to start with the manga) Ghost in the Shell is a great one to do it with.
In the meantime… I think I’ll use this as an excuse to drag my copies of GitS out and watch them again. If anyone asks, I’m brushing up on the lore. Yeah… that’s it.
