Join us for the first episode of Scarlet Blade gameplay in Gamebreaker’s all new F2P gameplay Series.
Last night GAMEBREAKER’s fearless leader, Gary Gannon, downloaded Aeria Games’ newest offering — which is currently in beta — and invited members of the community to join him for a bit of Scarlet Blade gameplay action. Several community members joined Gary in his first adventure into the remains of a world destroyed by invasion and a long running war.
In this episode of Gannon Plays, Gary jumps feet first into Scarlet Blade gameplay. At this point, he hasn’t tried the game — although he was in voice chat with a few of us who hopped in the first day it became available. After creating his lovely Arkana Schaffnit, Gary takes the time to make a few friends — or figure out the social system and invite GB community members to group in game.
Once he had his team together, they then took to the open world and began blowing up beasts of all kinds, confronting nefarious women and inspecting strange new flora and fauna that’s spawned since the world was “destroyed”.
What is Scarlet Blade?
Scarlet Blade is a free to play MMORPG distributed by Areia Games. It takes place in the future, after the world has been destroyed in a long-running war between the humans and alien invaders known as the Narak. In an desperate attempt to destroy save humanity, scientists built an ark and created genetically superior humans to help defend the “seeds” in the ark and rebuild the world when the time is right.
Interestingly, due to certain traits, these superior humans — known as Arkana — were all required to be female.
Players can play as one of several classses and the game has gotten a bit of press about being NSFW.
What does Gary think of the game?
Well, to find that out you’ll just have to watch the video. But, I can tell you this. He’s planning another session this Friday, time to be determined. You can check this thread on our forums for updates on when he’ll stream next.
