Breaking news from the world of Guild Wars 2, our very own co-host and Community Manager at Massively Rubi Bayer took a job at ArenaNet. She moves on to be a part of the community team there. Congratulations to her; it was amazing having her on the show.

However, that’s not the only news this week the most highly anticipated MMO for this year. Guild Wars Insider spoke to developers about PvP in Tyria and showed off Norn Scholar PvP armor. Most importantly, ArenaNet’s Johnathan Sharp explains that “We try to design [the game] around that idea of what makes you want to watch.” This pretty much confirms to the panelist that Guild Wars 2 will definitely be set up for esports and allow other players to watch it in a type of spectator mode. Panelist Elixabeth hopes that there will be a very in-depth spectator mode beyond what Guild Wars currently has.

World of Warcraft news spread itself all over the place this week. In fact, this week show is all over the place, too. But topping the news was the Mists of Pandaria press event. Yes, it’s very meta that the news was about a news meeting. However, speculation abound regarding what Blizzard could possibly announce. A big hope for many fans is a character-model upgrade. Blizzard has reworked the scenary in most of old WoW, now it’s time it upgrade the models, so they don’t look like — as Josh Allen said — “a box of ass.” Unfortunately, all we can do is wait for more information.

If you haven’t heard about the Paladin mistake or the Spine nerf, then you need to tune into this week’s Legendary. Every week, Gary Gannon, Josh Allen, and Mike B breakdown the latest from the World of Warcraft. If you’re looking to rekindle you fun in WoW, then tune in every week to Legendary!

Per overwhelming fan request, Mike B, Gary Gannon and Schaffnit have set forth on their journey through the magical game of.. erm.. Magicka. Having a grand total of 20 minutes of previous experience, their confidence in the task at hand is secured, and their resolve in keeping each other safe and out of harms way is solid. That last part is a load of crap.

This Week In MMO: TERA-fied

Just when we thought that TERA was no longer vaporware, its publisher En Masse Entertainment received a roundhouse kick of a lawsuit by NCSoft. The Korean-based NCsoft claims that Bluehole Studios — the developer of TERA — stole software, designs, and even hardware from the development team of Lineage II. Given that many of the designers of TERA are former NCSoft employees, the claim does have merit. Our panelist Jason Winter believes it’s possible as well, but given that creative employees hop rather regularly from studio to studio, it is possible that the alleged copyright infringement is just that particular designer’s style — especially if a whole team moved from one company to the next. What do you think?

The internet was abuzz this week with MMO news. Funcom released a new ~~Left4Dead~~ Secret World trailer, World of Planes takes on a more thunderous name, and South Korea butts in on MMO parenting. Gary Gannon jumped out this week, so international superstar Mike Schaffnit stepped in to cover the news. But he wasn’t alone. The Republic: Brazilian Wookiee

The Star Wars: The Old Republic news this week focuses on customization and combat. Nearly, everyone in an MMO from the raider to the roleplayer is looking to distinguish himself from the rest of the crowd in some way. In an interview with Dualshockers, Live Producer Cory Butler expressed BioWare‘s commitment to customization. “We understand that our players love customization,” Butler explains, “The game is about choices after all. We want our players to be able to make choices as often as possible and those choices to have consequences.” Bulter did not elaborate on what those consequences might be for, say, having a neon pink ship, but panelist Larry Everett speculated that there will be a strange alien species that doesn’t like pink; when you color you ship pink, the aliens will attack you on site.

Legendary: Blizzcon Cancelled

Shock swept across the internet as Blizzard announced that there would be no BlizzCon in 2012. Josh Allen was so stunned that his monitor froze with Mike B plastered on it — or he really likes looking at Mike B, we’re not sure. Of course, World of Warcraft fans were very disappointed. However, Blizzard explained that the cancellation of BlizzCon has nothing to do with the loss of subscriptions but rather because the studio wants to focus on StarCraft II, Diablo III, and WoW‘s Mists of Pandaria expansion. On the bright side, Blizzard announced that it would host a Battle.net World Championship, a global esports competition in, so start saving money for your plane tickets to Asia now. Blizzard will announce the exact dates and locations sometime in the near future.
