Grand Theft Auto V Release Date Announced

RockStar Games has made an official announcement about the Grand Theft Auto V release date.

If you’re one of the many people who have been waiting to get your hands on GTAV this spring, we have some disappointing news for you. RockStar Games posted an announcement on their site this morning stating that the game now has an official release date of September 19th, 2013. That’s approximately four months later than fans expected.

According to the post, RockStar realizes that this will be a big disappointment for many fans, but they promise that it will be worth the wait.

GTAV is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require.

The post also asks that fans accept the teams apologies and promises that they are working hard to make the game everything it can be.

We are doing all we can to help ensure it will meet if not exceed your expectations come September – we thank you for your support and patience.

Still not on PC

While many people do expect Grand Theft Auto V to be released on PC, as of right now there is no word as to if or when it will actually happen. As of now, plans are for the game to be released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles.

  I’ve always been willing to wait before. But it shows an unhealthy amount of disrespect for users of the platform, not to even confirm a release, let alone provide a date.
  
  I’m pretty sure I can live without this game anyway. As far as I’m concerned, they hit their pinnacle with Vice City and have been sliding further into mediocrity ever since. That stupid club of their’s that you need to log into to play now, is as bad and archaic as GFWL. There’s not much to entice me to this game and plenty to drive me away from the franchise — and the developer.

I hope it is released for PC but I’m willing to wait for it until they do it right.

Here’s to another chapter of the game series that exemplifies video game violence and how it will inevitably change all our helpless, parental-guidance-less teenagers into sociopathic zombies. Just like heavy metal rock and roll and violent Bugs Bunny cartoons were supposed to yet didn’t.
