Irrational games releases a new Bioshock Infinite trailer
Bioshock fans, rejoice! Earlier today the Irrational Games marketing machine kicked into life once more, as the company dropped yet another new trailer for the next installment in the acclaimed Bioshock series, Bioshock Infinite.
First announced back in 2010, it’s certainly been a long wait, but with less than two months to go, I think its fairly rational to assume that at this point, Bioshock Infinite is at the top of quite a few peoples “most anticipated for 2013″ list.
Choosing to depart from the dank and confined spaces of Rapture, Bioshock Infinite takes to the skies as fans venture out into the mysterious shrouded city of Columbia. The trailer itself captures this new landscape in all of its glory, whilst providing little hints and nods to the elements that fans of the series will no doubt recognize making their way on to the field.
Irrational provide this brief synopsis of the game:
Bioshock Infinite is set in 1912 during the era of American Exceptionalism, the game’s protagonist, former Pinkerton National Detective Agency agent Booker DeWitt, is sent to the floating air-city of Columbia to find a young woman, Elizabeth, who has been held captive there for the last twelve years. Though Booker rescues Elizabeth, the two are pursued by the city’s warring factions; the nativist and Elite Founders that strive to keep the city for pure Americans, and the Vox Populi, a rebel grouping representing the common people. Booker finds Elizabeth to be central to this conflict, and that she also holds strange powers to manipulate rifts in the time-space continuum that ravage Columbia.
Hyped yet? I know we are!
