After the enormous success of the first Bioshock title, Irrational Games has a lot to live up to with their upcoming game, Bioshock Infinite. In a new web series titled “Heavy Hitters,” Irrational’s Ken Levine goes in-depth with the thought processes behind the bigger and badder enemies in Infinite.
In “Heavy Hitters Part 1: Motorized Patriot,” Levine and a few members of Bioshock Infinite‘s art team discuss the very presidential-looking Motorized Patriot enemy type. With the appearance of a robotic George Washington and the artillery of Rambo, these new baddies are supposed to “express the very clear system of beliefs the founders have,” says Levine.
According to the video, the Motorized Patriot has two distinctive traits: 1) he’s completely fearless, and 2) he carries a gattling gun called “The Peppermill” that becomes a usable weapon once the Patriot has been destroyed.
We’ll get to experience the wrath of the Motorized Patriot for ourselves when Bioshock Infinite comes out on October 16, 2012 in the US and October 19, 2012 in the UK for PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3 platforms.
