Hitman: Absolution may not be coming out until Fall, but Gamestop is already anxious for your pre-order dollars.
Enter “Sniper Challenge,” an “exclusive standalone pre-order sniper experience, available to play from the moment customers pre-order their copy of Hitman: Absolution.”
The trailer for this pre-order exclusive is actually kind of cool. While consisting entirely of sniping from a rooftop, the ability to reap perks for your performance is enticing.
It appears that “Sniper Challenge” will also have some fancy environmental traps to utilize in taking out your targets. There is the standard trap-door shot, in which Agent 47 shoots a platform and a rolling bundle of barrels comes crashing down on the target. But the cooler moment is when Agent 47 presses an elevator button, opening the elevator doors, and then shoots the man waiting inside.
For me personally, it’s much more enticing to pre-order a game when some sort of product is actually delivered for my cash. Putting down $5 for the assurance that they will hold a copy on the release date isn’t enough for me anymore.
Whether or not “Sniper Challenge” (or Hitman: Absolution, for that matter) is any good remains to be seen, but those excited for it can download the promotional Gamestop-exclusive tomorrow. Perhaps it will give you a good idea of what to expect when Hitman: Absolution ships in Q3.
