Fans of orc-killing are about to get a whole lot happier.
Robot Entertainment has announced Orcs Must Die! 2 for release this summer. The official announcement page for Orcs 2 boasts a new campaign, new enemies, new defenses, and a completely revamped upgrade system.
Perhaps most importantly, Orcs Must Die! 2 adds cooperative gameplay to the series, a feature that was a glaring omission from the first game.
Taking place just a mere few days after the end of the first Orcs Must Die!, the War Mage finds himself back at odds with hordes of orc enemies. To help him out, the War Mage fights alongside a new companion called the Sorceress, who happens to be an ex-War Mage responsible for the end of the magical Order.
Both the War Mage and the Sorceress are selectable characters for single player and co-op. While the War Mage “charges into danger,” the Sorceress is a more “nuanced” character, defeating enemies with “mind-control and magic.”
Those who have purchased the first Orcs Must Die! will apparently unlock exclusive content to use in the sequel.
Can’t wait to get your hands on Orcs Must Die! 2?
If you have access to PAX East this weekend, the game will be playable on the show floor. For those of us that aren’t headed to Boston, we’ll have to wait it out until the game releases this summer.
What do you guys think of the announcement trailer? Is everyone pumped for more orc-slaying action?
