Man of Plastic

Ready for another LEGO video game? Warner Bros Interactive and TT Games are hoping that you are, as they have been hard at work on LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes. For those unfamiliar with the series, LEGO models, often dressed up to look like key characters in a given franchise, punch things until they explode into tiny LEGO blocks. But wait: this time WB and TT Games have changed ALL the rules. Batman, Robin, The Joker? They’re all still present in LEGO Batman 2, but so are Green Lantern, Superman, and Wonder Woman.

GameInformer.com has the official reveal trailer for LEGO Batman 2, and boy, is it goofy. The silliest moment in the entire piece might be the Superman reveal, in which a very stoic LEGO Supes hovers over Gotham for a good five seconds with his cape flapping in the wind. The brief glimpse of LEGO Catwoman’s top, complete with a painted-on tiny waist and huge rack, comes in a close second.

All kidding aside, the LEGO games are pretty fun, albeit mindless, for co-op pickup games, especially if the other party isn’t much of a gamer. The first LEGO Batman wasn’t the best of the lot, but with the inclusion of more DC characters, and as GameInformer points out, talking LEGO mini-figs, this new title seems like it might be a bit more interesting than previous LEGO games.

LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes will be out this summer for PC, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation Vita, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo 3DS.
