Lions and Tigers and…A Nazi Zombie Army…Oh…My?
First person shooters, we love them, we hate them but there’s always a sure fire way to get people to look at your game in a totally different light and that is of course the introduction of…Zombies. Taking a slice of George Romero’s 1979 classic, games have been popping up left right and center for the past few years, promising players payback against everyone’s favorite undead pals.
Now next on the block to take a piece of that pie is British developers, Rebellion, who today released a trailer for their latest stand alone game simply entitled Nazi Zombie Army. I know, right? I was hoping for zombie bunnys and kittens too. Needless to say the title doesn’t leave too much to the imagination and neither does the trailer!
Nazi Zombie army is the next installment in the Sniper Elite series, which after a 6 year hiatus, found itself revived with a lot more punch than the previous installment had packed. Maintaining all the same elements that fans love and enjoy, Nazi Zombie Army packs in a ton of new features including a host of new close quarter weapons. Gameplay? Well although it hasn’t been released yet, again the trailer provides some insight and players can probably expect an experience similar to that of survival horror Killing Floor, or the more recent Pain Killer, both of which pit players against waves of increasingly powerful foes. (Yes we certainly did just purposley miss out a much more well known game with a Zombie survival mode).
Rebellion describes the game as;
a co-op campaign for 1 to 4 players, Nazi Zombie Army is a horrifying new stand-alone expansion of the award-winning Sniper Elite series. In the dying flames of World War II, a despairing Hitler unleashes one final, unholy gamble – a legion of undead super soldiers that threatens to overwhelm the whole of Europe. You are Karl Fairburne – the sniper who shaped world history. You are one of the last living souls in Germany. You must team up or die. American, German, Russian – previous military allegiances no longer matter. Now it’s just the living versus the dead. Only a Sniper Elite with nerves of steel and a steady aim stands a chance against Hitler’s Nazi Zombie Army!
Now this is only the trailer folks, the game itself does not hit the virtual realms until February 28th. If the trailer has whet your appetite you can pre-order the game right now from various sources, or you can save yourself 20% by pre-purchasing from steam right now.
