Battlefront II Mass Effect mod reveals new ways to play Mass Effect
With the Mass Effect trilogy having come to an end and co-op multiplayer being the only thing to hold your interest you might want to check this mod out.
The mod, Mass Effect: Unification is a third person shooter built for Star Wars: Battlefront II. Having originally started as a tribute with a hand full of maps, the game quickly grew into what we see now. Using the formula of Battlefront II, players can choose their faction and fight it out on space stations, planets, and eventually ships from the Mass Effect series.
Currently players have access to Eden Prime, Virmire, and the Prothean Skyway maps. Keep in mind that while the graphics are not on par with Mass Effect 3, the attention to detail for the three maps and the detail of the playable characters is amazing. The dev team also stated players will have access to the original Star Wars maps.
So, you can bet your jawa that you will see fire fights break out in a Mos Eisley cantina.
Players can choose to play either the Collectors, Alliance, or Geth faction. More factions are scheduled to be added in a future update. Some of these factions will include Cerberus, Reaper Forces, and the gangs found on Omega station.
Frayed Wires Studios, the developing team behind the mod has confirmed more maps will be coming in later updates.
Executive Lead Developer Marth8880 has also mentioned in the forums that the team is looking for additional help on the mod. If you have experience in building maps and want to contribute to the growth of the mod, you can find more information here.
With Battlefront II Mass Effect mod in full swing, I am curious to hear from those that are currently playing. What are your thoughts on the mod? Should Bioware have made a similar game mode in the Mass Effect series? Leave a comment below letting us know.
