Looking for a game that combines Halo, Warcraft 3 and Minecraft into one big ball of epicness? Well, let me introduce you to StarForge — a new project from indie developers, CodeHatch.
The premise is simple. Earth’s resources have been depleted. You and others like you are sent to an alien world to begin anew. Of course, you don’t just start over. You bring all the technology and resources you can and get to work.
Oh, and did I mention that not everyone is on your side?
As a player, you gather resources, build bases, buy weapons and use strategy to destroy your enemies’ base while they’re doing the same. So, basically you’re doing all that work building a nice homey base just to have someone try to blow it up.
StarForge contains elements from multiple genres including RTS, FPS, RPG, Voxel Builders, DOTA and Physics Sandbox games, creating a super-genre the creators refer to simply as “FortWars”.
For those interested in checking StarForge out, an alpha version of the game is available for download on the game’s website. It should be noted, however, that not all of the elements seen in the trailer are available in the current version.
