Recently CCP Delegate Zero dropped the news that EVE Online’s Buddy Program will finally be getting open invites.
Players will be given a one-to-many URL to be sent out to the masses via any social media site. From here gamers looking to get into EVE will use the URL to make an account, download the game, and start their pilot careers. If they subscribe then the original sender of the URL will get bonus rewards.
The biggest difference in the reward system has been the removal of PLEX-for-PLEX. Zero said this is a way for CCP to ensure the integrity of the updated system.
