Red 5 Studios has dropped a new summer milestone video showing off the new changes to the recon in FireFall.
In the video combat designers Justin Hanson and John Deshazer start off with a few new abilities that will bring a grin to even the most downtrodden recon.
First up, a new ability called Switch Shot is being placed in the game. The idea is to target an enemy and switch them so any friendly firing hitting the target will get them killed – or at the very least running away screaming from the excess gunshot wounds.
On top of this, the target cannot gain – or do – any support abilities.
The team added a new sniper rifle gun with a charged attack; the longer you’re in zoom/scope mode, the more damage the gun will do.
Also Recons can use SIN, Shared Intelligence Network, to mask their allies.
Teleport and long range mine now require the recon to actively use them. No more drop and go, so this time you have to think about the placement and act on it.
Finally, the one ability that could leave many an enemy demanding for revenge, is Execute Shot. I hit you with this shot and you do not get back up.
Allies can no longer save you once you’re incapacitated, and if you are already down I can tap you with this ability to watch you explode damaging nearby allies.
FireFall is really making strides to improve the game, and I am curious to know how you, the community, think these changes will pan out.
