Patch 5.4 is right around the corner, so we must say goodbye to Battlefield Barrens’ weekly quest and quartermaster!
With the ending of World of Warcraft’s PvP season 13 on August 27th, it is safe to say that patch 5.4 is almost upon us. Many players – including myself – have noticed that patch 5.4 had begun downloading in the background downloader.
When patch 5.4 goes live, Vol’jin and company will no longer be needing the supplies we’ve been gathering for them every week. A message from Crithto on the forums confirms that the weekly quest and quartermaster will no longer be there. If you have radical mojos after patch 5.4, you can still use them on any armor tokens you can get your hands on. For those of you who are wanting the Raptorhide Boxing Gloves and the Gahz’rooki’s Summoning Stone, they will still be available but as a rare drop from the Kor’kron.
As the Orgrimmar invasion begins in 5.4, Vol’jin and his forces will move beyond gathering supplies and into a full assault on the Horde capital. This means that once the new patch goes live, the Battlefield: Barrens weekly quest will no longer be available.
Those of you who have a Radical Mojo after the patch goes live will still be able to use it with existing armor tokens. However, Ravika, the Darkspear Rebellion Quartermaster, will no longer be available for purchases, but you will have a rare chance at receiving the Raptorhide Boxing Gloves and Gahz’rooki’s Summoning Stone by killing the Kor’kron, and other associated mobs in Northern Barrens.
It surprised me how much I enjoyed the weekly Battlefield Barrens quest. It took up quite a bit of my “waiting in queue” times, rewarded me with 200 valor points, and by the time I was finished I had my 50 Lesser Charms of Good Fortune. I am sad to see it go; however, the Timeless Isle will soon make me forget all of my Battlefield Barrens enjoyment.
What do you think? Are you sad/angry/happy to see Battlefield Barrens end? Let me know in the comments below.
