Star Wars: The Old Republic Takes PvP To Denova

Our regular panelist for the Star Wars: The Old Republic show — The RepublicEd Park, regularly says that one area that BioWare created really well was the PvP warzones. The developers not only balanced the classes well, they also made the maps interesting and fun to play.

With the launch of Update 1.2, SWTOR takes us to the planet of Denova and the Novare Coast PvP warzone. As the new video indicates, this is a capture-and-control map. It is your job as a Republic or Imperial soldier to capture a beachfront turret to destroy the enemy bunker.

Be the level the enemy’s base and you win the match.

For those who are confused, Update 1.2 will not release on April 10 — which  was previously posted on the official SWTOR website — as made clear by a moderator post after the original post was cleaned up.

The actual pvp doen’t look and doesn’t play like this video. No one does one on ones like they are showing in this vid its always people ganging up on people or people killing your from ranged. In this vid people are fighting organized lol. Come on no one is going to mention this. Also you probably playing with 12 year olds gl on an organized Pvp. Swtor is way too kiddi friendly. I can’t stand playing with children in MMo’s.

4 months after the beta and they are managing the live game exactly as they did in the beta. Poorly at best. I remind you of my comments regarding world PvP and Ilum, made in November, criticizing both. Nothing new, BioWare is not cut out to manage an MMO.

    Doing warzones right? Seriously?

Other than Huttball – could you possibly be calling the massive zergfest of utter pointlessness that is Voidstar, or the first-to-cap-so-giveup-already warzone Alderaan.

    Really???

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/ADEN6X6TYCORSSGEHKWMBIHDHY Eclipse

Oh, and no ranked in 1.2. Game is flailing around in its death throes.

So why was my comment deleted? Because I stated the truth? Sorry it’s not sugar coated but TOR fails hard when it comes to PvP. I’m not exaggerating this fact and I’m not coming from the middle of nowhere.

Please name a PvP related initiative that TOR has done that hasn’t totally further gimped its pvp content OTHER than listening to the community and deprecating the half baked bag system.

Name one. You can’t? That’s because they ARE flailing around when it comes to that form of content. They haven’t a clue what to do and are merely trying one thing after another hoping it works.

Bads on the forums cry about healing being OP in pvp, even though it has a 30% debuff already? Ok, let’s nerf medpacs and healers/healing in general as well as giving the top two dps classes an uncleansable 20 sec heal debuff that makes healers heal at 50% effectiveness when combined with trauma. Uninformed people shouting about lightning, lightning, lightning killing them en masse? Alright, let’s nerf dps sorcs into the ground without buffing their 31 pt talents thereby making their sustained dps even more of a joke post patch. Yeah let a supposedly mage class cast their most powerful ability with a 2 sec cast time and only hit for 1800, then watch a merc beat that with one 1.5sec tracer.

I’m not even going to touch on the fact that the healing nerfs are in-part due to the development team’s wishes to make the top-tier PvE content more difficult; but alas instead of simply retuning the top-tier PvE content (nightmare raids) for those players – they nerf and change mechanics of entire classes and with no regards to players with the less intense playstyles who have no interest in said content. No, not going to touch that at all.

With the incoming class nerfs, class mechanic changes, deprecation of OWPvP, no ranked warzone system and other unasked for, unneeded changes – there is effectively no PvP endgame in SWTOR.

Please explain to me how this new warzone changes all of this.

If they even did delete a comment of yours I don’t blame them. You post comments one after another… its called spam dude. If there is something you forgot to say in one of your posts its called an edit button on the bottom right of the comment… use it.

When I posted my top comment, I didn’t see see the ones I had made before – which is why I questioned about them being deleted.

If I had saw them, I would have just edited them. I’ve changed them now as my post above pretty much says everything I wanted to say.

You can actually delete them completely when editing them >.> I suggest you do that so you don’t seem… well you know.
