Blizzcon 2013 Annouced!

Blizzard’s not-quite-annual convention has been announced! Blizzcon 2013 will take place in Anaheim on November 8 and 9, 2013.

As the official announcement states, the seventh Blizzcon will offer attendees a chance to enjoy:

  • Hands-on play time with the latest versions of Blizzard Entertainment games
  • Global finals for Blizzard eSports, featuring top pro gamers from around the world
  • In-depth discussion panels with Blizzard game developers and artists
  • Competitive and casual tournaments for players to showcase their talents
  • Community contests with great prizes
  • Commemorative merchandise based on Blizzard Entertainment’s game universes
  • More activities and attractions to be announced

The previous BlizzCon was held in Anaheim in October 2011. Tickets to the event sold out in seconds, and highlights included the unveiling of the fourth World of Warcraft expansion, Mists of Pandaria®, and an epic closing concert featuring rock legends Foo Fighters.

Further details about BlizzCon 2013, including ticket availability and pricing, will be announced on the official BlizzCon website (www.blizzcon.com) as the event draws closer. Those interested in attending the show in person can make advance hotel reservations now and receive special BlizzCon rates by booking through the BlizzCon hotel website.

The last Blizzcon was in 2011, the 2012 edition was cancelled to “give the team more time to work on the release titles”, to the disappointment of many Blizzard fans. 2011′s Blizzcon sold out in seconds, as have previous ones, so the same will likely be true of this one, so keep an eye on that official website for booking information for the convention itself as well as for accommodation in the area.

Will you be trying for convention tickets? Heading down to Anaheim, CA, to experience it for yourself? I know the GAMEBREAKER crew will be doing our best to get down there, so we’ll be looking forward to seeing it and meeting some of the site’s readers and viewers!

Titan reveal and clips for the movie as well as All-Stars.

Figure the discussion panels for the Warcraft movie will be very popular.

By November we should be in the last tier patch of the expansion, so I can possibly see like an announcement for another WoW expansion, maybe not as polished as MoP was in Blizzcon.

Agreed, Bizzard will announce the next WoW expansion.

They better – since MOP has already been out for more than a year.  The plan was to launch new one every year right ?

           Every 2 years :)

Mists was released on Sep 25, 2012.  So it will be just under a year during Blizzcon.  So it would make sense to announce the next expansion during Blizzcon 2013.

I also expect Blizzcon 2013 will include an announcement of the final tier of Pandaria raids.

So after the release of patch 5.2, I suspect we will see two more non-raid patches and another raid patch before Blizzcon.  I’m hoping for a Hyjal style raid in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.

We will prbly have a 5.5 content patch that leads into the next expansion. We have know they wanted to get out of Cataclysm as fast as possible & put all there efforts into MoP. Which has turned out pretty dam good with some bumps in the road that can be smoothed out.

Well they always annouce a new xpac after 1 year has passed, its a given. They have been working on the expansion since before MoP came out, so they could be right about the shorter expansions they said they would try.

Blizzard have a lot of work ahead to fix their broken rep after last 2 years.  Good way to do it is to gather the fanboys to cheer the devs on in their PR.

I want info on diablo 3 expansion

pay up first, thats what they will ask from you ( annual pass crap incoming ? )
if they have something related to D3 that we can call good news they needed to release it last month.

      • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

Number one selling game of 2012 was not good news?

        • http://www.facebook.com/inkogni.alex Inkogni Alex

If you are talking about D3, sure it had big sales and the reason of it was D2 and hype.
Just by looking what that made to the company image makes me think  >> wasn’t it better if they didn’t release D3? <<
New something releasing from Blizz and people are thinking 10 times before they buy it.
How long did you think before you got Cataclysm or SC2 :D

          • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

I was clearly surprised it made it to the best selling game of 2012.  After the bad press and bad word of mouth, I figured it would tank after the initial sales.  I was shocked it doubled it’s initial numbers.

But then, I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised, while checking the Amazon sales for GW2 and RIFT sales numbers, I kept running across D3 and the WoW Battlechest.

          • http://twitter.com/Luke_Malcolm Luke Malcolm

Well you can’t deny GW2 did sell 3 million copies over 4-5 months. Rift’s Expansion I don’t even think ot sold a million copies, I wouldn’t know though honestly they never release any numbers unless there good like any company would.

Yet EA destroys good old games & still swims in money. Don’t blame the company, blame the idiots who throw money at them. (Talking about EA).

I wonder what figure from the starcraft universe will be in this years swag

  • MissBegotten

Well… Comicon sold out in 90 minutes…  this one should sell out in about 9 minutes.

It was nice at the beginning when you didn’t have to fight the queues to get tickets.  Oh well, good luck to all that suffer through it and get them.

    • 7BitBrian

Blizzcon more popular than Comicon? Really!?

      No just no…..

      • MissBegotten

Well, Comicon is like 90k attendance…. Blizzcon… 1/10th of that… so, by the numbers… the tickets should go in the same time frame…

Maybe should have been a little more clear in my narrative… sowwy….

      • http://twitter.com/Luke_Malcolm Luke Malcolm

Well think about it Brain, Blizzcon doesn’t have 90k tickets to sell they prbly have 25k or maybe more, so of course they sell out faster. Last Blizzcon tickets sold out after 4 mins you had to be spamming that button.

  • 7BitBrian

I suspect we’ll get no Titan info at all, it is vaporware after all, some info on the movie(i have hopes but it’s probably doomed to fail) and a release date for Blizzard All Stars. Anyone expecting more than that is setting themselves up for disappointment imo.

Notice how their list of “features’ has absolutely nothing in it about reveals, hands on time with new games(it says current games) or anything “NEW” at all? Yea. Save your hype, this con does not deserve it.
