Wildstar‘s release date hasn’t even been announced yet, but one thing is certain: Carbine Studios wants everyone to have their special place in game.
According to the studio, not only will there be a housing system, but it will be a major component to the player’s in game experience. They believe housing is “more than just a plot of land, it is a destination within the game that they can make their own and use to their advantage.”
A press release from NCSoft details some of their plans for the housing system. According to the release, all classes and races will be able to have a house — which they intend to make available via a quest.
The press release also indicates that Carbine has roleplayers in mind with this feature, as they want houses to be useable for meetups as well as being hubs for other game aspects. And, while they’re being somewhat cagey about the overall system, it looks as though players will be able to stake out a plot of land to call their very own.
That seems rather fitting for a game that has a “Wild West” feel.
As someone who loves in game housing, I must say that this all sounds very nice. Of course, we’ll all have to wait to get into the game to see how it actually works.
Oh… And it seems that our friend Skippy had a hand in the video you’re watching.
