WildStar’s Lead Narrative Designer Chad “Pappy” Moore has revealed in another installment of WildStar Wednesday, the origin of galactic holiday Shade’s Eve.
In this update we are told of the history of a planet named Cassus where an outbreak had occurred. With the number of plague victims rising, the settlers found a young girl was immune to the virus and quickly created a vaccine.
From this historical event, myths and personifications of the plague turned into Shade’s Eve. The plague turned into a dark shadowy male figure by the name of “Jack Shade” and the young girl with the cure turned into a character called the “Angel”.
As communities across planets began to adopt the new holiday and adjust the holiday in small ways till finally the holiday became universal in nature.
Two individuals would be chosen to depict the virus and the savior while others would dress up and spend a full week enjoying the many games and festive drinks till the last day where a massive party would be held before dawn.
Moore mentions the planet Nexus in somewhat of foreshadowing of possible events to come.
