Still not 100% on my server choice… I like the sound of Dragonbrand though.

Anyone else on Gate of Madness in the beta? We were destroying WvW.

    Gate of Madness did very, very well even though it was a new server compared to the others. i for one am going to continue on Gate of Madness, i name is the best server name out there and our performance in WvW speaks for itself!

Heh, my guild already decided on the Sanctum of Rall because of the backstory involved in its creation..but dragonbrand does sound epic. Might have to pay it a visit when the guesting feature becomes active.

Does anyone know if I will be able to use my pre-order code for early access game time ? Doesn´t look like I can register the key on the site they have.

  same amount of money, yes, but pre-purchasers get waaaaay more pre-release perks that those that pre-order because they spend the full cost of the game upfront. remember a pre-order is a much lower cash upfront investment, in GW2′s case it’s an 1/8th of the standard price and 1/30th of the collector’s edition. so generally it would be unreasonable for any developer to offer the same perks for a pre-order as they do for a pre-purchase.

    I could not care less about the extra perks like rings or dye or whatever it might be but usually with wow, swtor etc there was the same start date no matter if you pre-ordered or pre purchased.

      i do not ever remember SWTOR or WoW having a pre-purchase at all. and i have played both. there were only pre-orders, so you only put $5 down.

        Of course you can pre-purchase WoW expansions just like with arena net you can do that from their website and swtor you could pre-purchase on origin.
        
        Difference is this is the first mmo I have played where the headstart is not the same for pre orders and pre purchase.

        don’t know about WoW Xpacks as i have not played that game in forever (praise Jesus) but as far as SWTOR, SWTOR had a cluster-fuck of a head-start where they let people log on in waves based on when you made your pre-order which was fucking BS. at least everyone who buys the game by a certain time will get in at the same time.

        When it came to the old republic you got into the game in the order you pre-ordered and NOT pre purchased. Like I said and I will state it again no mmo to date has had earlier start for pre purchase compared to pre order.
        
        Since a pre-order and a pre-purchase is 99,9% the same anyway. I doubt more than 0,1% of those who pre-ordered are not going to buy the game.

        what is so hard to understand? a pre-purchase is a payment in full for the game and pre-order is a small down-payment to hold the game for you for a specified period of time. they are NOT the same.
        
        i already gave you two MMOs that came out this year that have different perks between pre-purchase and pre-order.

        I care because I pre ordered the CE edition to get the box like I always do. Of course I thought the headstart would be the same as if I bought the cheap standard edition from arena nets site but it is not. I pay more but start after. And no I can not cancel this order nor do I want to as I still want the box.

        It makes no sense that someone who pre orders their CE edition starts behind someone who buys the standard edition from arena nets site.

        they you did not pre-purchase the CE and instead pre-ordered it. contact your retailer. this is not an issue that lies with ANet and it has NOTHING to do with the price you intended to pay. you you pay for the game in its entirety now, that’s a pre-purchase if you only put down $5 now and will pay the rest when you go and pick up the product that’s a pre-order, regardless if you end up paying more than the standard edition. there is nothing confusing or misleading here. the CE like all other version was also available for pre-purchase.
        
        if you did pre-purchase the CE, but your retailer is only giving it to you as a pre-order then i would contact them first, then the ANet customer service afterwards.

What’s the info on Ehmry Bay? Since there is no sever named after a tavern or bar, I’m just going with my next favorite thing, being next to the ocean. Nothing against RPers but I’m not sure I’m ready to get that in-depth with my play, so Tarnished Coast is out for now. Maybe later though.

Or better yet, what sever does one pick when they have no real ties to anyone else or particular reason for joining one?
