GAMEBREAKER Gets Hands On PlanetSide 2

For a lot of people the wait for PlanetSide 2 has been a long one. And it’s not over yet. But GAMEBREAKER’s Gary Gannon is at E3 and managed to get some hands-on time with the game.

Now, this is the first time the game has been played at a live event or outside of beta and as a result Gary was only able to play a small portion of it. But his feelings on the game can be summed up pretty well with four words.

“Oh My Freaking God!”

PLANETSIDE 2 WILL BE EPIC! if you need an ex ps1 player from beta played
and paid for game for about 8 years n multi cr5 on TR NC and VS to do a
section for the show “shout me” im an fx artist as well so more than
able to do streams and vids etc!

  Full-on shows for one game can only work if there is enough hype built up around that game, which in the case of Planetside 2, sadly there is not. More importantly though, there needs to be a steady flow of information for hosts to talk about for 45 minutes.
  
  Right now, there is really only enough information for it to be mentioned on TWIMMO every now and then.

ok you need to cap points in a base to control the base by holding the cap points, by controlling bases you get control of zones, these give you in game points you can spend on transports etc, the game can handle 1000s of players on the same map! 1000s not 64 player…this game will be the BIGGEST first person shooter in the world once its out i BS u not! cover planetside 2 MORE!

TotalBiscuit was live streaming Planetside content from E3 all day. He’s also done some hands on stuff that he’s got posted on Youtube. It looks like a really fun, awesome and true MMOFPS…

I think this will take from both CoD or BF players, those who like FPSs they can jump in easily and MMO players craving action out of MMOs. Since no great games are delivering on action combat in the MMO sphere yet, its something we can play until a legit action combat RPG comes out and not this target based (crap, its all crap to me I tell ya!).

I know Tera is out there, but with boring leveling, questing, stamina mechanic and partially crappy dubs to English, not holding my interest. As much as I would like to like GW2 it is not giving me the realistic action (combat) I crave that at least a shooter can give. Vindictus awesome combat, just not persistent or open and too much pay to win + “nickel and dime” payments. Then there is Planetside 2 which I can get my action craze, maybe Firefall will deliver idk but finally I may have something to shine in.

  There’s a district difference between what Planetside 2 and Firefall offer. The former offers an open world PvP experience which some might consider to be more “hardcore”, while the latter offers a somewhat laid-back open world PvE RPG experience. I’d venture to predict that many people may play both to keep things interesting.

    We’ll see prettysoon what the abolishment of levels will do for FF,
    and while I have very high hopes,
    I can’t wait for a battlefield with this many players on it.
    
    Some of us old ut 2k3/4 players have dreamed of just this type of warfare.

    I know their difference but they both have good potential, though i’d venture to say Planetside 2 is mostly meeting its potential making it great in the MMO space of games out there.

Great to hear they are delivering on their hype. They’ve had my interest since they announced Planetside 2 but I’ve stayed reserved until we could see some evidence they’re pulling it off.
