GAMEBREAKER's Neverwinter Preview From E3

Gary Gannon got some hands-on time with Neverwinter at E3 today, putting the upcoming Cryptic Studios Dungeons & Dragons MMO through its paces.

He was impressed with the title, which we got a brief look at earlier this week in the form of a couple of trailers, but that hardly compares to actual gameplay experience.

It’s a pretty hard about-face from a game that the GAMEBREAKER staff has been, shall we say, less than enthused about.

Glad someone from Gamebreaker finally got a hands on a learned how Action oriented this game is. A lot of people were impressed at PAX and it seems like more are equally impressed at e3. Looking forward to getting to play this thing myself.

What’s with this “We have only pve on launch and we’ll add pvp in a launch” stuff!? Tera, Diablo III, Neverwinter? And even the games which launch with pvp it’s not complete(swtor), very weird O_o

It’s gonna be like TESO vs NEVERWINTER. These seem like they will be most the same and Neverwinter has been showing more to impress so far. Seems great and one that will deliver on the action combat side of things.

I will take a well designed action combat MMORPG over GW2 any day, despite all the nice stuff GW2 is doing, the combat feeling “realistic” and smooth, rather than target+UI based. Sorry for Tera, but don’t think Tera did it well enough.

There is something about this game… I want to like it, I really do, but I don’t see where the hook is going to come from? What does it do significantly different from other games? The user generated content could be interesting, but I suspect the quality of the content will be very hit and miss.
