Zenimax Tells Us All About The Elder Scrolls Online Beta Events
According to the announcement there has already been a small friends-and-family test for the beta in February. General public invitations will be going out this month!
The beta will typically be spilt into specific windows of scheduled play sessions. Each beta event will have a clear focus on specific areas, features, and other specific gameplay elements. Testers will be expected to provide quality feedback, insight, and constructive criticism wherever possible.
There will be a few Elder Scrolls Online beta events every month, mainly on weekends. There will be a small number of events to start and more later on. Later beta events will ramp up the player base and we can look forward to massive stress tests closer to the actual launch date that will require thousands of participants.
What Are My Chances of Getting Selected?
While there actually is a pretty decent chance of you being selected, it depends entirely on you and your hardware. The Elder Scrolls Online beta is not just for high-end and hardcore gamers – the game is for everyone. If you don’t have a great computer, that might actually work to increase your chances of being selected. Or, if you have a Mac, for example, they might need specific Mac testers. The Elder Scrolls Online beta events will try to throw a wide net and get the largest pool of diverse testers. If there is something about your experience or hardware that is unique, you’ll likely have a better chance of being selected.
If you are selected you will get an e-mail with specific instructions about the event and how to get playing. Also, Zenimax wants you to know that there will likely be TESO beta scam attempts and you should take care to be on the look out. It is easy to be caught up in the excitement of a beta event, but make sure that you are not letting a scam site take advantage of you.
The Elder Scrolls Online beta events are almost upon us! Will you make the cut? And seriously, how excited are you for this beta?!
