If you have been paying attention to SWTOR you know that Bioware recently allowed server transfers to select origin servers.

Today Bioware has announced a limited time reward incentive for server transferring in Star Wars the Old Republic for those that already transferred and for those going to transfer.

Players will receive a pet called the Gannifari – “Endearing and curious, the Gannifari makes a great sidekick!” – and 25 black hole commendations giving players the opportunity to buy high level gear.

In order to get these two rewards you will have to have an account in good standing. Players will also have to be on the qualifying servers and have an active account by July 30, 2012 at 11:59 PM CDT / July 31, 2012 at 4:59AM GMT.

If you have not already made the move to transfer and desire the pet/commendations, I suggest you get to it.  Otherwise, there goes the endearing and curious Gannifari.

Leave a comment below and let us know if using a limited time reward system to get players to transfer is acceptable, or do you think it pushes players to do something they typically would not, even if it is in search of a higher population?

oh yeah!! this will fix everything!!! screw ilum, end game content, ton of updated bugs, and finally lag servers. this minipet will make you feel all better!!!! But now back to reality, pet doesnt fix the game. ie: like FFXIV gave a GAINT pet for returning players.

baby ewoke would have been better…and cuter, only people i’d see really liking this thing are fans of swamp people also :P

So this sounds to me like BW is basically rewarding their least active players and punishing the most active, loyal players who either re-rolled or jumped immediately at the chance to get off their dead servers. If they were going to hand out fake currency all along, why didn’t they just give everyone affected by mergers a free baby alien rhino?

That said, I do like how they made an effort hear to make the game more colorful with more pets. And maybe this thing will grow up to eat the baby taun-taunts.

I’m sorry but that pet isn’t cute nor cuddly, if something like that appeared in front of me I would shoot it in the face without thinking it twice lol.

If you are already on a destination server, you will get the items as well. So if you couldn’t transfer, you should get these items.
