War is brewing in EVE Online… and, as usual, it’s chock full of drama in its creamy center.
You can start by watching the video about Delve 2012, and by reading various poetical posts and battle recaps about the hubbub, but if those don’t make things clear enough, try this description from Reddit:
Dreddit is the Reddit Corporation (guild) of Eve. We are part of the Alliance (group of corporations) called Test Alliance Please Ignore. In the eve universe, there are areas of space that players can occupy and make their own. TEST has control over an area called fountain. To the south of fountain, there is an area called Delve. We sent a whole bunch of us to delve to fight the people there (Nulli Secunda) for fun, but they were not responding, so we forced their hand by stealing their stuff. They flipped their shit and called in reinforcements, and so we called in reinforcements, too. At this point, pretty much every large alliance has picked a side to fight on, each side consisting of thousands of players.
So, in a nutshell: Someone wanted to fight, someone else didn’t, when someone forced the issue, someone else called in help, and now it’s a big brouhaha.
Just another typical day in EVE.
At least that’s one side of the story. We’d love to hear what Null Secunda and their allies think of this assessment.
