Trion Worlds had one last treat for Rift fans prior to the launch of Update 1.8.
The company hosted a livestream on Facebook this afternoon, showing off the Infernal Dawn raid that will be rolled out with the update that goes live tomorrow in North America — Thursday morning in Europe.
Maelforge, the dragon god of fire, has a plan to convert all of Telara’s oceans to lava. So, naturally, he’s constructed a ship to sail on the fiery seas: the Dread Fortune. Captain Rusila Dreadblade is just one of the raid’s many bosses, which includes the dragons Laethys and Maelforge themselves.
The small snippets we saw of both dragon fights looked amazing.
Trion confirmed that most mobs — boss and regular — in the raid will drop crafting materials that can be used to create some excellent new gear.
The raid will be opened up in phases, with wings being available about a week apart, followed by parts one and two of the Maelforge fight. Yes, he’s such a badass, you have to take him down twice and you’ll need over 400 hit/focus for a full clear, though some early parts might have slightly gentler gearing requirements.
Then there was the boss Ituziel, the Herald of Flame, who was described as having “a well-sculpted posterior.”
You think he drops leggings?
