Firefall beta weekend announced, real life epic loot to be won
Red 5 Studios, has just announced its plans for its next string of open beta weekends for its upcoming F2P MMORPG, Firefall.
To top it off, the studio is also giving beta testers the chance to take home some prize packages of epic swag.
They’ve also gone and thrown in some Razer gaming peripherals to sweeten the deal just that little bit more.
For those unfamiliar with Firefall, this is the PC MMO that gamers and critics were praising when it was first unveiled at PAX in 2010. Set on a post-apocalyptic Earth, Firefall pits the last survivors against a not too friendly alien species known simply as “The Chosen”. The game itself beautifully melds PC FPS combat with MMO gameplay alongside other familiarities you’ve come to expect from todays MMO such as open world play, PVP and character customization. But don’t let that list fool you, Firefall promises to offer its own unique twists and turns on a genre it aims to claim as its own.
When does the beta kick off?
Well you won’t have to salivate much longer; From January 25th,10am PST to January 28th,12am PST, drop ship pilots are going to be demanding extra red beans as they’ll be working over time as fans are invited to take in the sites and sounds that Firefall has to offer, as well as provide the developers another chance to stress test their equipment.
The Firefall beta weekend is open to anyone and everyone; all eager participants need to do is register an account and get signed up.
Firefall has no release date as of yet, but with the announcement of this string of weekends, we can but hope that the date is edging further and further forward.
