What are you doing this weekend?
Well, I think many of you will be doing the same as we are. In fact, quite a lot of you will be joining us for a weekend of anarchy and adventure in the Guild Wars 2 BWE.
To give you an idea, some of the GAMEBREAKER staff are here to let you know just what their focus will be from the array of juicy choices on offer this weekend. Also we’ll be putting in a tentative livestream schedule for GAMEBREAKER at the bottom of this post. Keep an eye out for updates.
Scott Hawkes
Profession-wise I’ll be focusing on ranger and thief. Thief I haven’t played at all and ranger I haven’t played since an early press event. The ranger really didn’t capture my imagination back then so I’d like to see how far it’s come. I’ll be streaming some WvW with the rest of the GAMEBREAKER crew as we try to get a look at the new dungeons in between roflstomping all over the Eternal Battlegrounds — and any other map we can. I’ll also be resisting the overpowering urge to test out the scepter changes on the guardian. Honest. Ahem.
Jason Winter
Besides mocking Scott when he breaks his oath and plays a guardian all weekend… I’m going to try something I’ve been looking forward to since ArenaNet first mentioned WvW. They say you can level up from 2 to 80 strictly by playing WvW, so I’m going to try it. No, I won’t get to 80, but I’m going to take a fresh, new character — I’m thinking ranger — and plop him down in the Eternal Battlegrounds and never leave. I want to see how viable it is, if you can truly advance at a reasonable rate, gain gear, maybe even get enough mats for crafting, and so on. I know I’ll be at a disadvantage, but will it be enough of a disadvantage for me to get frustrated and call the experiment a failure? We’ll see…
QuintLyn Bowers
This will be my first weekend in Guild Wars 2, but I’ve heard so much raving from everyone who has been in previous betas that I’ve been hoping for a chance to give it a try. I haven’t decided on anything regarding my character or anything else since I just want to figure it all out when I get in to the game. Basically, I’ll be running around checking out everything possible and acting like a complete noob.
Richard Booth
I am going to focus on PvP for most of the beta. WvW with GAMEBREAKER peeps as well for breaks. I am going to try Guardian, and I want to level my engineer up more as I found the mechanics pretty fun especially in PvP with turrets etc.
Richie Procopio (Massively and GuildCast)
This weekend, I will be taking a trip with the family and I will miss much of the beta weekend event. Ahhhh the humanity! However, in my limited play time, I plan on trying out the warrior profession for the first time. So far, the elementalist is my favorite, but I haven’t played them all and I need to finalize what I’m going to play come launch. I also intend to make a few Tyria with Tots videos with my 6-year old Logan at the helm of his ranger, Iceblaze. That’s a warning to all of the cute defenseless critters out there: Logan is coming!
Elisabeth Cardy (Massively and GuildCast)
I am going to go nuts. I’ll hopefully spend a lot of time with the new content in Gendarran Fields, but WvW is also threatening to soak up a large amount of my care and attention.
Dom Fahey
I’ve kinda progressed as far as I want to before launch. I’ll probably jump around the starting zone and/or do the dub v dubs if my framerate is okay. Maybe explore the new zone if I can get there.
Gary Gannon
I will be hunting down, pouring hot oil on, and teabagging a certain fellow that has a phallic last name…it may or may not Hugh Jackman.
