In anticipation of this weekend’s Guild Wars 2 beta — not to mention future festivities — ArenaNet is ramping up its activity on various social media sites.
In addition to its usual presence on Facebook and Twitter, ArenaNet’s started a page on Pinterest to highlight various works of fandom and where players can submit screenshots from this weekend’s beta.
While ArenaNet is hardly the first developer to seek new ways to connect with fans, the company does seem to be going above and beyond to make sure its community feels deeply involved in all aspects of the game leading to launch.
This seems to be in line with the company’s earlier stated goals about wanting to make MMOs a social — rather than the all-too-familiar solo — experience.
That focus now extends beyond just the game itself.
