Soon you’ll be able to turn your gaming experience into a dynamic event every time you sit down to play, with a new line of Guild Wars 2 gaming peripherals from SteelSeries.

The Guild Wars 2 Gaming Headset retails for $99.99 and includes a ton of features, such as an omnidirectional mike, collapsible earcup hangers, and a plug that can go into either ear.

The Guild Wars 2 Gaming Mouse is described as “sweat resistant” with a rubberized soft-touch coating, ambidextrous grip, and seven programmable buttons. It sells for $69.99.

Finally, you’ll have your choice of three mousepads, imprinted with the GW2 logo or with stylish concept art of Logan or Eir. Each goes for $14.99.

And if that’s not enough, a Guild Wars 2 gaming keyboard is also in the works, due to be released later this year.

Is this a big deal to you? Do you frequently buy/use gaming peripherals branded with a company’s or game’s name or logo? Let us know in the comments below!

Noooo! I wanted a white Razer Naga with the GW2 Logo =(

    • Odeezee

would never happen. GW2 is going for eSports with their sPvP and programmable mice/keyboards are not allowed at tournaments.

but i feel your pain, i would have preferred the Steelseries Cata mouse but with the GW2 logo, not trying to rep WoW like that :/

  • http://twitter.com/FishBaitism Fish Bait

Would hbe tempted by a keyboard, but seeing as the EU get ripped off & the UK even more so with the $-£ errors, give it a miss I think :(

  • Shawn Robertson

    looks really cool !

  • Noxdus

My current head-set is a piece of (censored). I’m tempted to finally invest in a good one though, especially if it has a GW2 logo on it. I’m thinking ill grab one some time before or shortly after launch.

Steel must pay a heck of a kickback on this stuff.  Of course, they can afford it with the prices they charge for mediocre gear.  I mean, $100 for a wired headset?  C’mon.  And I had the same thought about it being white… Whaaa??  I thought these guys ‘knew gamers’.  While I would like some GW2 swag, this ain’t it.

    • Old Ben

      >  I mean, $100 for a wired headset?

You do realize that the expensive part (in terms of design and manufacture) is not the wireless transmitter, right? In fact, a good (long, coiled, tough) cord probably costs more than the transmitters they use in these things.

A good (comfortable, durable, hi-fi) headset made for the broadcast industry can easily cost over $500.

I agree the SteelSeries GW2 heaset doesn’t look like it’s worth $100, though. Not because it’s wired or white (if you’re wearing it you won’t see it anyway), just because it looks extremely uncomfortable, and the cup design suggests “so-so” sound quality at best.

      • pandora005

To me a microphone integrated into the cord seems inappropriate, because it will not be at the right spot to catch what you are saying … so either you have to tune it up and it catches every noise in your room OR you have to yell a bit. No one is watching you in the comfort of your room and thus a standard design would be better IMO.

        • Old Ben

Or, at the very least, make it a directional lavalier mic with a lapel clip.

SteelSeries actually has some decent headsets (ex., Siberia V2). Not exactly broadcast-industry level stuff, but for the price they’re pretty comfortable and have decent audio quality.

they just coppied diablo 3 mouse and put a guild wars 2 logo on it

    • 7BitBrian

       That’s what Steel Series does.

    • Old Ben

Next you’ll be saying the mouse is actually just a generic mouse they buy from a contractor in China, and not a genuine hand-crafted mouse made in Tyria…

  • Damir Miric

That mouse with keys on the left and right side… hmmm i dont know how do you press a button on the right side of the mouse unless you are a leftie ? Looks cool tho… Overpriced too…

    • Old Ben

      > i dont know how do you press a button on the
      > right side of the mouse unless you are a leftie

Assuming you have the thumb on the left side and the index and middle fingers on buttons 1 and 2, that still leaves two fingers hanging off the right side, no?

Where can i buy this? i can’t find the buy button or anything.

  • http://twitter.com/Thaguf Thaguf

They make good keyboards….never used any other thing they have.

  • http://twitter.com/viion Josh Freeman

    WILL BUY!

  • http://twitter.com/Osuryn Osuryn

why anet, why steelseries and not Razer… i am dissapoint…

    • Old Ben

Because SteelSeries made them a better offer. If you want to be disappoint at someone, be disappoint at Razer. Arena Net is just in it for the money; they don’t make the stuff, they just sell the rights to use their logos.

  • Key Foster

Glad its steelseries and not razer, jk (I wont be using that). I am happy lol. Love my MercStealth keyboard and my WOW Legendary Mouse.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000267765226 Vegas Steve

Recommend the keyboard?  They aren’t even displaying it yet… geez.

  • Sklys

The stuff looks neat but a bit costly, to boot you have s/h cost.
I believe I will wait a bit and see what happens for GW2 stuff.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/2LCIYLFDZ6DH3IR2I7IY6ANQSU REMCO Estimating

Never really enjoyed the steel series mice.
    Like My MMO7 just fine.

If You want a Quality Keyboard that has individual LED’s & cherry switches instead of a membrane,
Get a Deck Keyboard, they are the best.

    Nostromo FTW, also.

    • Old Ben

Or get an actual Cherry keyboard. :-P

Actually, I’m not sure if they currently have any models with individual LEDs, but I find that distracting when playing games anyway. I know where they keys are; at most I need to “recalibrate” a bit if I remove both hands from the keyboard and then go back.

While I’d love some GW2 gear, I’d never buy this. Same feeling about the white, I eat at my computer desk ! The mouse would be orange in no time. -_- Doritos.
Not to mention it’s pricey for what it is. I’ll just buy a bunch of GW2 posters and hang them around my desk. Thanks for the coverage guys ~ <3

    • pandora005

Learning some table manners and not eating like a pig could help with that …

      :p

    • Old Ben

So your problem isn’t so much with your mouse being dirty, it’s just with being able to _notice_ that it’s dirty… :-P

  • SevenFold

Would love some GW2 Gear but I’m not a fan of Steelseries.

  • Ariantha

I’d never buy branded peripherals.  Apart from the issue of cost what if the game my gear is branded for tanks, I’d be forever explaining why I’m using a mouse/keyboard/headset with guild wars 2 all over it

    • Old Ben

On the contrary, then it becomes a classic, and you can sell it for 10x what you got it for. ;-)

  • http://twitter.com/cecilandblues Tony

I had to give up on Steel Series when the 2nd replacement for the WoW mouse shorted out due to static electricity, this is why other mice are made of plastic.

    • Old Ben

Shorted out due to static electricity? That’s some voodoo quantum mechanics there.

  • Old Ben

Do people really pick their mouse / headset based on what they look like? Are you going to be looking at them while you play, or are you going to be looking at the game?

I pick them based on how accurate and comfortable they are, and (despite trying a lot of models), I still haven’t found a better mouse than the MX-518. If only it had a third thumb button…

    • pandora005

Reminds me of the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (or whichever novel it was in that trilogy of four (five)), where the wheel didnt get invented by that committee because the phone sanitizers couldnt agree on the color.

  • http://twitter.com/akakazucat Kazu

Why buy this when you can rather have a Razer Naga? It’s not too far off in the price range and it has way more buttons. May be easier to know which spells you are casting due to them being marked as 1-12.

    • Tway Garr

how often are you looking down at the mouse when tanking a boss or healing your group in PvP?

  • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

Got to love the branded hardware.  Pick them up for cheap six months after the game released.

  • Ryan Weckbacher

    Heck yeah! I’m getting these!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000922697155 Joey G Marsala

I’d rather get a Naga, which I have, or Logitech’s new competitive mouse to the Naga. They look sweet, but I’ll go with Razer over any overpriced, branded peripherals that charge you for the logo.
