Is this more of a Treasure Hunt type quest?
See an item on the ground, has nothing in it’s text other then the name and lore or BoP or unique? take that item to some npc and they give you a better explaination on what to do next???

Imagine a Mesmer with Day & Night swords

    • http://twitter.com/MikeSchaffnit Mike Schaffnit

Well considering both Day and Night swords are both Greatswords, you won’t able to equip them both at the same time… unless you combine them into the MegaSword!!! See what I did there?!

      • Alex Handy

Totally unrelated and not that important English tip. “Begging” the question is a type of logical fallacy. Saying “a is true because a is true” or proving an assertion with an assertion. In the video you meant to say ” it raises the question”. *~~The more you know~~*

i  want a bow that shoots rainbows, and unicorns. enuff said

    • Old Ben

      Play TF2. :-P

      • dawolv

I haven’t actually played since half a year now.
Does the Huntsman shoot rainbows in Pyrovision? :D

        • Old Ben

Actually I think only the Pyro himself (herself?) gets to shoot rainbows, but everybody can get a baloonicorn.

  • 7BitBrian

This was a really good talk, I watched it live and loved every bit of it. especially the bits about Orr, this is going to be amazing.

  • mcfoyle

    engineer gets legendary turret?

    • dawolv

       No?

  • Sathure

More excited.. What the frack Arenanet what the frack..

  • Randall_Wolfcry

Okay am I the only one who gets a big echo loop for the raw video?….

    • Brosaxon

It also happened in the live stream, it’s just the first few minutes, after that it should be fine.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=506728308 Julian F’n Mugnieco

i got the echo too, but it stopped after a minute or so

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/SMGRLFM4UASOO7QO26HTHBLIOI Shawn

Where is Sharuko again? He has been awfully quiet as of late :P

  • Brosaxon

I hope Josh will be glad at least some developers are listening since he’s been saying legendarys should be strictly cosmetic (transmog only) instead of being an “I win ‘cuz I’m OP” for quite a while now, even if it’s not the developer he’s been telling it to.

    • http://twitter.com/Jayeluu Jason Winter

True exchange in Skype just after we finished watching the video (slightly paraphrased):

Josh: Did they talk about legendaries?
Me: Yes, you’ll have to grind for weeks or months to get them (or buy them on the cash shop) and they’re much better than any other gear.
      Josh: I hate you, Jason

      • http://profile.yahoo.com/ITHF7XKYGVXFAPCDMDJTKHLBBU Lian Wan

I like how you are lying without lying. :)

      • EndrzGame

That genuinely cracked me up. Thanks for the laugh! =)

      • Jay

         Lawl

  • http://www.facebook.com/richard.peppers Richard Peppers

And there’s the gear grind nobody wanted.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Robbert-de-Wilde/1806039882 Robbert de Wilde

except it’s not needed. It’s just to look better. That’s the key right there. You enjoy the game and earn gear that way, rather then being forced down raids.

    • http://twitter.com/Rurik1547 John

It’s also the gear grind you aren’t forced to do since the legendary items are cosmetic…were you even paying attention during the video or did you just post this comment right after you heard legendary?

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Shawna-Daniels/1135007726 Shawna Daniels

Explain this ‘grind’ you speak of.
You mean playing the game and going around Tyria collecting items to use to forge a legendary weapon?
I suppose you should get a legendary weapon simply for logging in?
Nobody is forcing you to do it if you don’t want to, it’s simply for looks.
You won’t need it to be competitive, so there’s no needless grind.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/SMGRLFM4UASOO7QO26HTHBLIOI Shawn

You can’t have everything handed to you, like Sharuko wants in a game apparently.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_3LEA4N6HI6CWVTQ6PUFQIF6O4U Waffles

Sure, it’ll be a grind of sorts, but you can do literally ANYTHING in the game to grind. That is so much better than the WoW method of grinding the same dungeon over and over for that one piece. Also, if you don’t want to put in the time for the most awesome weapons, then you shouldn’t get it, and you DON’T HAVE TO. The legendary stuff isn’t a “best tier” thing, it’s Coolest Looking. You won’t have any edge over another player. If you don’t want to grind, don’t.

    • rob weik

You dont actually have to do the grind. Besides looks there is no reason to get them. They arent any better then all the other end game weapons.

      • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

Then want is the end game.  If you have the skill, you can probably finish all the content within a couple of months (I’m sure some gamers will finish it within weeks).  If you then want a full set of legendary weapons, you can grind through the content again and earn the legendary weapons.  Nothing is wrong with that, MMOs do it all the time.

        • dawolv

The point is though that other MMO’s make you in order to keep up.
Of course, when you’re done with everything the game has to offer you start repeating stuff, but you do that in any game.
The difference is you don’t feel pressured into doing only one specific type of content, but you can do anything that tickles your fancy.
Of course there will be more rewarding things, f.i. constantly running dungeons and pushing troups into Orr probably gives you more XP and progress than killing bunnies and deer outside of Divinity’s Reach, but if you enjoy slaughtering little critters, noones stopping you!

  • http://twitter.com/megera23 Juliana

And here I came expecting a huge picture of the bow shooting rainbows on top of the site. :)

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/SMGRLFM4UASOO7QO26HTHBLIOI Shawn

This game just keeps getting better and better, WoW eat your heart out.

    • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

WoW has nothing to worry about from GW2, I don’t think most people understand how dfificult a game is Guild Wars 2.

  • Revanhavoc

Totally agree with Mike S about having the legendaries more accessible to the individuals, rather than having to rely on others to progress.

    20 minute hits are sweet.

  • H S

Yes mike the bow does exist.

I want the molten hammer that makes you look like the terminator.

  • http://www.facebook.com/rodriguezcorreamiguel Miguel Rodriguez

Man i really love you guys at gamebreaker.tv, you guys are really on the ball with updates.

  • Richard Magyar

anyone else get “Sorry, we’re unable to play this episode” on the vids?

    • Sukh Bhatti

      clear your cache

  • Sharuko

This seem to be put together last minute and it might be to boost sales as they are not meeting expectations.  They put two of the most charming and nice guys from the developer team and played a game of deflection.  One thing I know about NCSoft is they know their fan base and this stream catered to it well and you can see this based on comments here and Massively. Here is how the convo went:

GW2 Players: Where is our end game content?
NCSoft: Look over here rainbows and unicorns.
    GW2 Players: Hooray!

After combat the biggest weakness of GW2 is endgame content and they addressed the concern one month before launch.  At the end of the day here are the facts, this game is launching with 8 dungeons, yes just 8.  Every sPvP mode is the exact same, how is that even acceptable after it has been developed for 5+ years?  And there is zero incentive to do WvW after the fun wears out.

You guys might not see it now due to the hype but it will become apparent by December. I hope people start thinking critically and start demanding more end game content.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Shawna-Daniels/1135007726 Shawna Daniels

      Keep grasping at straws Sharuko.
In the past, at least some of your anti-GW2 remarks may have held water, but now you’re just getting ridiculous. I’m sorry you dislike the game.
Have fun with tera and TSW.

      • http://profile.yahoo.com/SMGRLFM4UASOO7QO26HTHBLIOI Shawn

Funny I just said the same exact thing to him lol! Its true though this guy has no clue what to say anymore its pathetic really.

    • http://twitter.com/H3L1ON Samir

ok like always i do not agree with you and think Tera has far less “interesting” content as wow; swotr, gw2 combined (not trying to offend)
however i do am curious in what you would think off acceptible endgame if you could elaborate on that a little bit?cuz from what i am hearing it seems fine with me personaly

ps: the rainbow shooting unicorn bow was a joke since he cant actualy talk about it yet, and only Eric would understand by that description what he meant with unicorn bow

      • Sharuko

Actually the rainbow unicorn bow is real, goes to show how much you know about the game.

        • http://twitter.com/H3L1ON Samir

          proof?

          • Sharuko

So you are totally oblivious, that is pretty funny.  To picture the bow think of a bow drawn by a 12 year old that is made of a unicorn, light pink and light blue and you have a picture in your head.

Funny thing is you attack MoP because of Pandas but now GW2 has something even more kid friendly.  So finally you are right, “Power Puff Girls MMO” it is.

      • rob weik

He is correct there is a legendart short bow that has a unicorn head for it’s arrow head and shoots a trail of rainbow….

how are we supposed to see the unicorn head anyways….

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/SMGRLFM4UASOO7QO26HTHBLIOI Shawn

Bout time you showed up Sharuko, The only thing you do Sharuko is twist the words of what these fine gentlemen are telling us about. You said there was no end game and they talk about end game in a big way and the only thing you can do is just whine moan grumble and complain? None of what you says makes sense, I think at this point in time you really are grasping for straws aren’t you?

You can’t stop the inevitable, You are just the very very very very silent minority. Have fun in failboat Tera.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=506728308 Julian F’n Mugnieco

I stopped reading at NCSoft. NCSoft has little to no effect on the content of GW2, especially since all the trouble they caused in GW1. All they do is set deadlines… if NCSoft was calling the shots we’d have another korean grindfest, clearly.

      • H S

If NCsoft was in charge….it would be worse, it would be a Tera Grindfest.

        • http://profile.yahoo.com/SMGRLFM4UASOO7QO26HTHBLIOI Shawn

Which further proves the point that Sharuko has no idea what he is talking about, its nothing but hot air.

    • Kicknpups

Ah Sharuko how miss informed you so are!..

I will take that that bet on come December the game will be fail because of all the hype!…Btw how is Tera doing? Is it still on sale on amazon for  $19.99 no wait it’s $29.89 yea guess they have to pay that third party in the U.S to make sure they take all the calls for cancellations….

Also 8 dungeons? you mean a total of 16 end  game with two different types not to mention 3 end games with 2 types so 6 learn to do some math man..There are two modes and from someone who has experienced the low level both modes it’s not the same…Once again how’s Tera? haha

      Such a silly fool!

    • http://twitter.com/Acidicvision Michael Gatsby

Do you watch the videos on here or just jump when you see a GW headline and post non sense?

Legendary weapons can be akin to some of the endgame items in GW. Destroyer, Tormented or Envoy weapons, Vabbian or  Obsidian armor, chaos gloves…et cetera. For a casual player those things took months and months to acquire. They were compelling enough that seven years later players are STILL trying to earn or buy them.

Also, 8 dungeon LOCATIONS. A story mode and three explore-able modes each. The explore-able versions of the dungeon open up new area, enemies, objectives and rewards. That’s THIRTY TWO individual dungeon experiences.

The incentive to do WvW is for Guild influence, server rewards, and karma for prestige weapons and armor only available in WvW. And thats just whats there at launch. Arenanet being Arenanet, I would bet money there is more added to the game and mode faster than you could possibly complete what was there already.

Its fine to not like a game. Different folks, different strokes. But at the very least make sure your criticisms are accurate or valid. If you don’t, even the people that would normally agree with you, who also dislike the game, will see the fallacies and you end up looking like an idiot. Just trying to do you a favor.

      • Sharuko

You can’t get away with that misinformation.  First, weapons are not end game content, if you are ok with grinding for weapons at end game as “end game” content then more power to you but it won’t fly with most players.

Second, at least you admitted there are 8.  Kicknpups said 16 which is a blatant lie.  No offense I don’t take different paths opening up or new bosses as new dungeons or new experiences, it isn’t.  WoW has random bosses in dungeons they didn’t call it a different dungeon.  Rift had different areas opening based on difficulty and didn’t call it new content.  It is 8 dungeons, period.

If you are ok with mediocrity at end game, great.  But it won’t fly with most of us. SWTOR found out the hard way, you can have an amazing leveling experience and fail hard if you don’t keep people satisfied at end game.  No amount of streams or convincing will change that.

        • http://twitter.com/cipero Matt Cipriano

Weapons aren’t end game, yet in almost every mmo weapons and gear are the incentives to raid. If it weren’t for them, do you really think the ‘end game’ as you put it would even be popular?

Your comparison to SWTOR fails because this isn’t a sub based mmo, and you are getting far more for just 60$ then you get in some of those games like SWTOR for 60$ + 15 on a monthly basis.
Also, D3? Really? I mean…Really? You are comparing an open world mmo to auction house tycoon 1 aka D3, which is an arpg with 4 player grouping. That isn’t massive by any stretch, unless of course you are saying it’s an mmo because you have the ability to interact with people in a general chat and post auctions with each other.

          • Jay

Lol logic doesn’t work on Sharuko… Nice try though. ;)

          • dawolv

D3 at least has you log on before playing, that’s as much MMO as it will ever get, lol

        • Brimstar

I see you don’t like this game, cool. Move on. Go play something you will enjoy. I don’t see why you’re wasting your time with something you clearly have already psyched yourself out of playing. Take care bro.

        • rob weik

How is this end game different from GW1? How does Wow keep their subs with the end game mediocrity it has, or Tera for that matter. And actually rift did advertise the different areas opening up as new content when they added it.

A lot of players will play it for WvW and sPVP, if you dont like those then in 6 months you’ll be looking for something else. Heck MMO players will anyway because retention in all current games is horrible.

        • dawolv

Have you tried the different Dungeon paths?
Friends of mine did and they said they didn’t even follow the same way through the dungeon, the bosses were compeltely different with  different mechanics.

Mediocrity at end game  is a non factor.
If you don’t enjoy the leveling process then you won’t enjoy endgame, because it’s THE SAME THING!

Only 1 PvP type is fine, when it’s fine-tuned and well fleshed out.
TF2 launched with 6 maps and Dustbowl is still one of the most frequently played maps.

          > First, weapons are not end game content, if you are ok with grinding for
weapons at end game as “end game” content then more power to you but it
          won’t fly with most players.<
          LOL
          What is WoW Endgame?
          Hint: It's grinding for gear.
On that note: What is grinding?
Grinding only applies if whatever you have to do is tedious and boring. So I can say I enjoyed the PvE in GW2 Betas so far and from what they are saying it's only getting more complex and involving. If I can continue this after I hit max then I'm a happy camper and getting the legendaries won't feel like such a grind if the tasks it has you do are versitile and challanging.

        • Spammerbam

Should it be a red flag for me? You no longer have the game, so I don’t understand why it’s a red flag for you and why you still make effort to bother with this game.

One thing for sure, the game isn’t out yet and it has 10 times the contents compared to Tera.

How do I know this game will keep contents flowing? Because GW1 did a pretty good job at it and staying successful. GW2 has been similar and I’m happy with the way it is; it isn’t taking SWTOR’s path, nor Diablo’s 3′s.

You say GW2 doesn’t have enough contents, yet you still play Tera. Of course, you don’t talk about it because there’s nothing to talk about. Now, you’re off to praise new games and still bashing on GW2 (which you no longer have access to).
^THIS is a red flag everyone should see.

      • Old Ben

        > Do you watch the videos on here or just jump when
        > you see a GW headline and post non sense?

Now, now, don’t be unfair. He does exactly the same even when the headline doesn’t mention GW.

    • http://twitter.com/ViceroySerephen Serephen

lol if you think the combat in GW2 is weak just wow the only mmo I’d possibly consider having better combat would be Tera, which is a pity that’s all it seems it has going for it

    • rob weik

I forget Sharuko how many sPVP maps and or types did Tera launch with in NA?
Also not paying a sub, so if you get to level 80, hate WvW (why are you even playing…) dont like sPVP and have seen all there is to see, then I would guess you got your monies worth.

I am not fanboi-ing it either I think there is enough content to get value from the game. And that was before we knew about Orr, which I am sure in 4-6 months of playing that zone will get boring.

Combat is also not known for the games biggest weakness but I am aware you like Tera and the “action” combat it provides or doesnt depending on opinion.

The number of players by december will probably be less, depends what else is getting released, but it wont be any worse off than any other mmo currently on the market in terms of retention and probably be fairing better than most.

      • Sharuko

I thought you think Tera is bad?  If that is the case, why do you compare GW2 to the Tera standard.  Does that make any sense?

  • http://twitter.com/just_izumi Izumi

“Take that Blizzard Entertainment / World of Warcraft”  – ArenaNet / Guild Wars 2 Legendaries.

  • http://twitter.com/H3L1ON Samir

Is it me or dose Colin look and speaks very nervously when he is doing a interview/ video with Eric. Cuz every time i see them doing a video i feel Colin is like thinking “i better not screw this up, Eric would kill me”

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=506728308 Julian F’n Mugnieco

he does seem a little awkward and nervous, but that could just be how he is.

    • MMO_Doubter

Some people get nervous when they have to lie to their customers.

      • rob weik

rofl. Would love to hear what you think is a lie?

        • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

That Eric and Colin don’t want to fight.

      • Jay

Lol that was actually a good troll comment.

      • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

Then BW must have great liars.   They werent nervous at all when they told us about the level 50 planet Ilum.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/SMGRLFM4UASOO7QO26HTHBLIOI Shawn

Probably cause he is just nervous and isn’t used to doing Podcasts like these?

    • Kicknpups

Watch him at E3 from last year he was the same way. I don’t think he is very PR type he also has done other Youtube videos and interviews over on Baliasta’s site he always seems shaky and nervous deff nervous. Not to mention Eric seems to always say “yep correct, yep, yep” Kinda cutting him off.

      • Jay

         Colin is the people’s champ!

    • Old Ben

I think the “director” told them to pretend they were having a normal conversation with each other, and Colin can’t seem to decide whether he should talk to camera or to Eric, and then tries to look “interested” when Eric is talking.

He looks far more natural when answering the questions at the end.

      • http://twitter.com/H3L1ON Samir

yeah true i noticed that aswel on the last question seemd pretty confident,
like you guys said it might just be ho he is or just dosent like camera’s

      • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

Or he was relieved the video was almost over.

  • http://twitter.com/WaylandX JB

Great Info! Now i jest need the game :)

  • http://www.facebook.com/Geobardi Ibán Martín

The  is not a joke, it appears in this image leaked from the beta client. http://www.guildwarsinsider.com/backend/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/rainbow.jpg

  • Unknownman14

Its good to hear that they are getting an endgame, but seriously the gw2 fanboyism that is plaguing the internet is really killing my excitement for this game.

I hope they can pull it well, I just hope they don’t forget to fix the guild member cap dilemma I mean seriously 100 members per guild? That can fill up really quickly at the hype that is in right now.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/SMGRLFM4UASOO7QO26HTHBLIOI Shawn

This will not bomb like SWTOR, that much is already apparent.

      • Unknownman14

I never said GW2 will fail, just stating minor problem that they can easily fix.

      • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

Don’t be too cocky.  While I have a great deal of confidence in ArenaNet.  Just see the fans they have developed.

Gamers are less forgiving than they uses to be and not everyone recognizes GW2 is going to be a very difficult game to master.

    • Sharuko

I am almost 100% sure you will have to pay real money to increase guild cap.  I am sure they are having internal discussions about this and have not made up their mind but I will take a guesstimate and say it will be a paid feature.

      • Unknownman14

I would have a problem if it was a sub based game. But for this type of model I don’t mind. Just going to pitch in some cash if my guild leader asked for it.

      • http://twitter.com/ViceroySerephen Serephen

It won’t be a paid feature you are able to buy upgrades to increase your guild cap it’s just that you start off with 100…

      • dawolv

Well, theres also a balance issue in play here: The more palyers a guild has the more influence it gets on a daily basis and the more upgrades can be purchased for WvW!

While I do think 100 is quite low, having more than 250 is quite ridiculous.
I don’t think people really play with so many people + the chat function is completely pointless when 250 people chat with each other at the same time.

        • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

Are we back to the guild size question. That does seem like a better question, than the question asked about who would win in a fight between Colin and Eric.

So, fix the influence system so a large guild would not have an advantage over a smaller guilds.

The chat answer is funny, you want to limit guilds to 100 accounts for chat reasons, but others want to create alliance chat that could have thousands of accounts.

If don’t want to join a guild of 250, don’t join the guild. But, don’t force a guild leader to hold back slots or kick players if they run out of room.

          • dawolv

             Yeah, but still.
You can be in an infinite number of guilds, but will you really cycle through them that often?
A guild that needs thousands of slots (a community page like GBTV, gwguru) will have a great portin of people in them that never represent the guild anyway.

I think they limited the size to battle people just going into EVERY guild they come across.
As I said, 100 ain’t enough, but at 250 I start asking myself if that’s still a guild or a forum.

    • rob weik

IF it does cost gems or whatever (doubtful), then it would cost each member less than 1 dollar. I cant see the increase to guild cap 100 dollar item….

  • Joshua Dooley

anyone else having issues with the audio?  about 10 sec after start of the video the sound plays from the beginning but in the background. So i hear everything they say twice but with a 10 sec delay and on top of each other.

    • Unknownman14

I did. I skip a couple minutes later and and the audio went back to normal. So far the idea of that they have for legendary is interesting… Hopefully we can check it out at the last BWE.

      • rob weik

I dont think anyone will be able to gather all the necssary mats or level to craft or obtain on of this. we wont see it until after launch. However you can see some of the patterns perhaps? and certainly some of the needed materials.

    • Old Ben

Yes, it was recorded that way. It’s fixed after a couple of minutes.

WAIT! – end game is SOLO content?

Way for an MMO to fail.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/SMGRLFM4UASOO7QO26HTHBLIOI Shawn

You obviously didn’t watch or listen to what they were saying. Its not about soloing you dunce.  They have an entire region for nothing but a massive event system that chains and sets you up getting into several dungeons. I don’t think that means solo content.

      Try harder next time troll.

    • Bryen Yim

Troll who never watched the video.

    • lee long

TERA much? at least listen to the WHOLE video

    • TacoBaal

Way to not watch the entire video, pleb.

MMO_Doubter+Sharuko=Tera’s Birth Child! Except the child never learns to walk or talk but spews brown bile over anything that is GuildWars 2.

      • MMO_Doubter

Think what you like. I reacted to Mike S’ statement about solo end game.

Do not lump me in with Sharuko as a Tera fan. I tried it in beta and did not like it.

    • http://www.kaiketsu.enjin.com/ Corey “Crimzen”

It sounds like you might not have fully comprehended what was being said in this hit, or in the Developer Video.

    • rob weik

end game content, is not meant to be solo’d. Good luck clearing all of Orr on your own….

i’m really intrigued with the legendaries. interestin to see if we’ll get legendary armours as well.

  • Elusive Fox

warrior legendary = COMPLETELY STOLEN from EQ1 except in EQ1 it was fire and ice, any eq player knows what I am talking about

    • TacoBaal

       Dude relax

    • http://www.kaiketsu.enjin.com/ Corey “Crimzen”

I mean, I don’t think it’s that hard to come up with a sword that has 2 different things going on at the same time. I’m sure plenty of other old rpg’s did that before EQ1 and EQ2. plus, it’s not a legendary solely for warriors. It’s for any class that can use a Greatsword.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=506728308 Julian F’n Mugnieco

wait wait wait, did they say, “At the next TEDTalk”!? I’d like to watch that…

  • Kicknpups

Another great vid and break down guys! Can’t wait!!

  • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

Well that was fun watching, really opened up alot of new questions about the game.

At level 80 you can continue to leveling and gaining skill points.  So different level 80 characters will have different number of skill points. Will this make some players OP because of their skill points?

Are the legendary weapons, solo game play?  Does that mean, I can follow around someone working on the legendary weapon, assist with the quests and get credit towards my legendary weapon?

Did they mention about any legendary weapons for sPVP or WvW?

I did get a kick when they mentioned how gamers complain how an MMOs changes at max level, and then they went on to explain how GW2 changes at max level.

Did it sound like Orr it takes alot of players to clear, but then ends up with a 5 man dungeon. Thanks for clearing out the trash and then the 5 players teams step into the dungeon, leaving everyone else scrambling.

Didn’t it look like Colin was afraid that Eric was going to yell at him.

For the new hit, I was expecting Jason to start yelling at the WoW players to get off his lawn with their Ledgendary staffs that transforms you into a Dragon.

Guys, I can’t tell my WoW guildies that one of the legendary weapons in GW2 is a short bow that shoots rainbows with a Unicorn head.  The Iron Man hammer does sound cool.

So, you have to get 5 players to agree on which path to take in explorable mode?

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/OABTMHSNAQ7DNEJO6T5E4VSTOI Mr.Mustacho

-skill points unlock skills, more point is more skills not better skills
      - if you follow long enough and partake in the stuff he does yes. don’t really see the point of following someone though
      - i don’t know
-it doesn’t change at max level there is just more to do the point was that most mmo trivialize pre “end-game”
-or you know just have multiple groups of five
      -yes
      -ok…
-unicorns are awesome this is common knowledge
-you all chooce one the path that gets most votes wins (or you discuss and all choose the same)

      • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

So, does each path drop different gear.  Or does it not matter which path you take they all provide the same rewards?

A real unicorn cries when you shoot someone with a unicorn head.

        • dawolv

Gear doesn’t drop at all, tokens do.
You can then cash the tokens in for gear.

          • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

Okay, so you could select the shortest or easiest path for farming tokens.  Then you can run the other paths for fun.

            I tend to be a min/maxer.

          • dawolv

Well, I don’t know how they correlate, but if I was ArenaNet I’d keep an eye out on which paths are easier and either make them harder to be on the same level as the other paths OR just reduce the token gain/up the token gain on the others.

but all this balancing stuff, I feel, needs to happen when the game is live. There’s no way you can predict the difficulty and the economy of a game long term.
Maybe by the time Christmas comes around we’re all Overpowered dodging machines and they need to make stuff harder.

    • Kevin Roos

Skill points give you skills it take 170 skill points to get all the skills you need you easily get this between the 80 you get from 1-80 and the ones you get from skill challenges by the time you hit max level so no it doesn’t give any advantage.

You can work together with other players to get your own legendary weapon it just takes time and dedication (lots of skill points) which you can get from doing sPVP, WvW or PvE.

All open world content scales so a bunch of groups going into the five man doesn’t hurt people who want to do events in orr.

      • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

So is 170 the max skill points that affect gameplay? So, by the time you hit 80, you should have 90 skill points from non-leveling sources.

Do you buy your legendary using some type of earned currency or do you get it by completing dynamic events?

I could see where a 5 man team could fight through to the dungeon, where a much larger group could capture the castles along the way.

        • rob weik

I think you are looking at it the wrong way. It’s a zone fully of webbed dynamic events, there are no hearts, so questing more of less continues as it always does. However at one end of the zone there is a dungeon and players have to do something in that zone to unlock it for everyone. Its meant for everyone to have access to the dungeon if they want.

You dont buy the legendary you craft it from what it seems and there will be a variety of ways to get said materials. They said it would but your skills to the test to get it.

They also said there are over 200 skill challenges on the way to 80….so you should have maxed skills.

    • Old Ben

      > different level 80 characters will have different number of skill points.

Characters will have different numbers of points regardless of their level; it depends on how many skill challenges they’ve completed.

      > Will this make some players OP because of their skill points?

Technically, using the system from BWE2, it only takes 13 skill points to fill your skill bar (3x T1 utility skills + 1x T1 elite). Depending on the exact skills you want, it might take up to 93 to unlock a specific set (3x T3 utility + 1x T2 elite). It takes about 170 to unlock all of them.

      > I did get a kick when they mentioned how gamers complain how an MMOs
      > changes at max level, and then they went on to explain how GW2 changes
      > at max level.

It doesn’t. You just get access to more areas. The actual gameplay stays pretty much the same.

      > Did it sound like Orr it takes alot of players to clear,

Orr isn’t supposed to be “cleared” any more than any other area. It’s just a high-level zone with a lot of events.

      > but then ends up with a 5 man dungeon. Thanks for clearing out the
      > trash and then the 5 players teams step into the dungeon, leaving
      > everyone else scrambling.

Even assuming that made sense, who would “everyone else” be, and why wouldn’t they simply be able to group with each other? That’s like saying “if 50 players win Tol Barad, 10 will go into Baradin Hold and the others will be left scrambling”. No, the others would just form 4 other groups (if they wanted to). Anyway, that’s not how it works.

      > I can’t tell my WoW guildies that one of the legendary weapons

I can’t tell my WoW guildies that one of the legendary weapons in GW2 is a short bow that shoots rainbows with a Unicorn head.

        >Wait until they find out the next WoW expansion revolves around pandas and >Pokémon pet battles…

        OH SNAP!

        > Will this make some players OP because of their skill points?
Skill points can be used to purchase skills and trade for items in the mystic forge, both of which don’t influence character stats.. so, you do the math.

        • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

EXACTLY, when my guildies complain about pandas, I can bring them over to GW2 for rainbow shooting, unicorn bows.

Hmm, pandas, hmm rainbow shooting unicorn bows.    Hmm pandas, hmm, rainbow shooting unicorn bows.

There you go, pandas with rainbow shooting unicorn bows.  Now that’s a hunter.

I’ll keep my eye out for the Panda with rainbow shooting unicorn bow in World PVP.

Hmm, grinding levels for skill points, collecting pets for the Pet Battle System.   Hmm, grinding levels for skill points, collecting pets for the Pet Battle System. (Okay, I don’t get the whole pet battle system, but it clearly wasn’t designed for me.)

BTW, I already got the trinket from Felwood that shoots a rainbow, GW2  stop copying WoW.

          • Old Ben

I’m pretty sure “rainbow-shooting unicorn bows” will be an extremely rare sight in GW2, unlike pandas in WoW.

      • Jay

lawl, thanks for replying for me ;P

    • http://www.kaiketsu.enjin.com/ Corey “Crimzen”

As far as the level 80 characters having a different amount of skill points, I don’t really see many opportunities for this to make certain characters overpowered. Mainly because even though you might have access to more skills overall (in PVE and WVW) you only have a certain number of skills available to you once you’re in combat, and in PVE I don’t think many people are going to complain if someone is helping them take down a difficult fight so everyone can get a chance at the loot. Once the fighting actually begins it will still be challenging due to the level scaling and the inability to swap your skills out while in combat. You just have more tactics to choose from before you begin the fight.

As far as WvW, in a 1v1 situation it might give you a slight edge on your opponent to have more abilities on hand before the combat starts(that’s assuming you have time to choose a different set up before you actually go into combat), but we see this anyway because of the fact that players of any level can enter WvW. A level 30 character is obviously going to have a slight advantage over a level 15 character sure, but the counter to this is, that in WvW 1 person can’t carry an entire server to victory. It’s more dependent on group strategy. As far as SPVP it won’t have any effect just because everyone gets all their skills and traits unlocked right out of the gate so you’re on equal footing regardless.

On the topic of explorable dungeons you choose which path to go down based on a voting system( at least in the most recent beta) and while I could see some PUG group people getting mad and maybe rage quitting because their team didn’t choose the path they wanted, I’m betting that the majority of groups will be close friends, or guildies trying this harder content; basically more organized groups. One could only assume that they kind of have already decided as a group where they want to go, or just agree to go which ever direction gets the most votes. And while doing the dynamic events on the outside of the dungeon in a large group, and then deciding what group gets to go in may be a little disappointing. I think splitting people up in smaller groups of 5 would be a lot easier then trying to fit 30 people in a 25 man instance, especially since you’re not really bound by typical class restrictions or the whole tank, dps, heals issues necessarily.

I don’t think the game changes at max level for GW2. I think everything they have talked about are the same systems we have encountered before( dynamic events, crafting, dungeons, etc) Just on a larger, more intense scale.

      • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

It will be interesting to see if a very small group of level 80s with full skills and well funded with gold, can defend a tower from a horde of level 10s.

        • dawolv

They probably could with cannons on the wall.

Oh gosh a MMO were multiple people need to work together to play the game. Someone warn the gamepatrol because they shouldn’t get away with this. And then they even expect social decency, this is really out outrageous, it’s the end of online worlds everywhere.

      • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

I was kinda funny you can go through Orr with a large group and then have to break down to 5 man teams to do the dungeon. There goes that working together.

BTW, the Gamepatrol is the playerbase,  don’t piss off the Gamepatrol.

  • DoctorOverlord

Thanks for the summary guys!    Some cool-sounding info from that Q&A.  It’s great to have GBTV to hit the highlights for everyone who couldn’t take part.  On Guildcast can you clarify if legendary items can be acquired through solo play? I have to agree with Jason, that doesn’t sound likely but who knows?

Part of me can’t help remembering back when WoW was still in development. Before Blizzard lost a good chunk of their original team. They were talking about how the epic end-game items would be different in appearance (a sword might be sheathed in flame for example) but their power would be equivalent to other items. Or course that didn’t last once the second batch of developers took over lol

  • Randall_Wolfcry

From what it sounds like, the legendary mace is basically gonna make you Metal Mario status from Super Mario 64.

  • Old Ben

One thing that intrigued me in the BEW2 patch notes was “added Skill Point currency type”. It looks like skill points will be usable in the mystic forge (to buy “Mystic Items”, whatever that means). I wonder if players will be able to use them right at the start or only after unlocking every skill.

    • http://www.kaiketsu.enjin.com/ Corey “Crimzen”

Ya I actually saw the vendor next to the mystic forge last beta. She sells  rare items I guess, that you can combine with items you put in the mystic forge to get rare or better results from what I could tell. And it looked like you could use the vendor right out of the gate. I bought something just to test it out( I had no clue what it was for mind you lol). but some of the items were pretty expensive, so I could see how continually gaining skill points would be of great use if you want to use the forge to get some of those rare or legendary items.

      • Old Ben

I don’t think I got any “Mystic Items” listed in the last BWE, only recipes, but maybe they were there and I just didn’t scroll down far enough.

I wonder what the mechanism will be for getting skill points after players do all the skill challenges. I think the ones in WvW reset when the match is over, but it’s not very clear if the PvE skill challenges also reset (and, if so, after how long), and whether or not players will still get one skill point each time they fill the experience bar after level 80.

        • http://www.kaiketsu.enjin.com/ Corey “Crimzen”

ya from what they said in the Dev video, it sounds like you get a skill point when filling the bar every time you “level” so to speak, past level 80. They compared it to how GW1 worked after you hit level 20. Which makes sense to me. It does bring up the question though, if they plan on increasing levels for the next expansion or keep the level cap the same and just add a bunch of new skills like they’ve done in the past.

          • Jay

I think they’ll leave the level capped for balancing reason. Just having the continued leveling for skill points adds a ton of extra playtime, in that we’ll be using them for Mystic Forge items and who knows what else. ANet can easily add items to that Forge, and if they make those items unbound for sale on the auction house, it adds even more incentive.

It’s one of those features I didn’t think about at first, but I’m really glad they added.

          • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

To earn the additional skill points, you can run sPVP, WvW or repeat the 1-80 dynamic events. Did I miss any?

          • dawolv

             Anything that gives XP.
Just like in GW1 once you hit max (which in GW1 took probably even longer than in GW2 [in vanilla prophecies that is]) you get skill points with which you could by more and more skills.

Now, that you don’t have access to all skills and professions in the game anymore, they added an extra use for them.

And who’s to say they won’t add more skills with expansions. I’d love some more skills, especially underwater skills are vey limiting I feel, when you’re normal set gears heavily towards ground targeted spells.

          • Jay

Actually you can’t earn skill points from SPVP or Dynamic Events. You get 1 skill point each time you level… You get 1 from each Skill Challenge (over 200 in total)… And after you hit 80, your experience bar will keep leveling, and you still get skill points, you just stay at level 80. Meaning, you keep leveling even after 80 just for skill points.

It takes 170 skill points to unlock every skill for each character, so you should have plenty extra by the time you hit 80. So you can spend your extra points in the Mystic Forge for nice items.

  • Bobby K

    MAD KING!!!!! just saying :D

    • mcsumo

Yeah baby!! :p …. I love the sound of a rainbow unicorn bow and all the other stuff they mentioned, but Mad King Thorn’s return excites me the most. Roll on October!! :D

      • ThnagglePuth

Yeah, I like the fact that some of the regular holiday type events that have been instituted will be part of the game.  Canthan New Year is big too, but if no Cantha?? Will the tradition be carried on by refugees in LA?

  • pandora005

Hopefully they make some distinction between the legendary weapon versions for the classes. Having the same two-handed sword for all classes that can use them is boring and will make the item less special than they should be.

    • Old Ben

Why should your class influence objects you pick up? I would find it a lot more boring to see all warriors using the same legendary and all mesmers using the same legendary than if there were two (or more) legendaries that could be used by mesmers _and_ warriors.

      • pandora005

        1. Maybe because your class influences the way you create that legendary item? It isnt one piece you pick up from a boss and are then done but rather something to be quested for.
        2. Just to give each class a distinction and to feel special. How many classes can use a sword? If all of them were to have the same looking sword in the end it would be pretty “uniforming” and THAT would be boring!
        3. Why shouldnt it?
        4. There should be legendary weapons of ALL TYPES because the weapon is an important part of your skill selection and thus you should be able to have a “full legendary set” in the end …

        • Old Ben

          > Maybe because your class influences the way
          > you create that legendary item?

So a player who really likes a certain sword model would find that he can’t have it because he picked the “wrong” class, and must therefore use a different sword or level a new character of a different class? I doubt Arena Net would do that.

          > Just to give each class a distinction and to feel special.

Classes already have a distinction (different abilities). And how would you feel “special” if your warrior had to use the same legendary as all other warriors?

          >  If all of them were to have the same looking sword in the end
          > it would be pretty “uniforming” and THAT would be boring!

That is solved by having multiple swords available (and letting each player pick the one he likes, regardless of his character’s class), not by making all warriors use sword A, all mesmers use sword B, and so on.

          • rob weik

Yeah I have to agree here you’ll have a lot more upset players that want their sword to look like X but play class Y. The day/night sword for example will prolly look the same for all classes that can use it. Also these are supposed to be rare and semi hard to get so I dont think we’ll see as many as people think

          • pandora005

If those people are upset they should grow up. You cant have everything all the time and some things dont make sense … like bikini chainmail or a Necromancer with a unicorn effect.

          • pandora005

Offering several different looks for the same item might work, but it also depends a lot on the special effects and several “different looking bows” would share the rainbow effect. From a roleplaying perspective I would associate “rainbow” and “unicorn” with RANGER and never ever with Warrior or Thief.

A Staff for a Mesmer should have totally different effects compared to a staff for an Elementalist or Necromancer.

Mesmer: randomly surrounded by shadows and mists and maybe a half-visible phantasm every time you cast a spell
Elementalist: changing color scheme of balls of energy.
            Necromancer: skulls, green mist, …

If you dont understand “class distinction” then I feel sorry for you, but it is more than casting different types of spells.

        • http://profile.yahoo.com/ITHF7XKYGVXFAPCDMDJTKHLBBU Lian Wan

Making it profession specific would not be cost effective. Someone has to make all the models and textures. Then you might need some lore to explain why there are all these shapeshifting weapons.

          • pandora005

Having different monsters or more than one type of tree in the game would be bad then because it is cost inefficient?

          • http://profile.yahoo.com/ITHF7XKYGVXFAPCDMDJTKHLBBU Lian Wan

If every monster and tree’s look depends on the profession of the player then yes. You’ll be creating content for 8 games instead of 1.

  • http://twitter.com/soupnotzi Soupnotzi

What I want to know is how we start the legendary quest lines? Wonder if BWE3 will tease us with some starting quests for those items…

I want my pistol to shoot magic rays and turns bad guys into chocolate and makes me look like Buu.

    • QSatu

I’m not really sure those will be quest lines. it might be simply hard to get crafting mats etc. + a lot of skill points.

      • http://profile.yahoo.com/ITHF7XKYGVXFAPCDMDJTKHLBBU Lian Wan

It would be very nice if there was some lore that hints at the ingredients.

    • dawolv

       There are no quests, remember?`:D
It’s probably just finding and acquiring the different untradables that you can then craft to form a legendary.

It’d be cool if they wouldn’t show us exactly how to craft it, but the community needs to figure stuff out. That will make this stuff even more rare in the beginning.
I’d love me some Terminator gear :D

      • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

Shouldn’t take long for the exact material list to make it to the Internet.
Hmm, let me go search for the legendary staff for my Charr Elementalist.

        • dawolv

Well knowing is half the battle, but the items you need, since untradable, will probably be really hard to get and can only be found in specific areas.

      • Old Ben

There are plenty of quests, actually. NPCs sitting by the side of the road with a spark or shield icon are player-triggered quests, and so are several of the skill challenges. It’s only world events, renown hearts and (I think) collection quests that get triggered automatically, regardless of player actions.

Dynamic Event Webs… I honestly thought that would be way too much work to put in the game. I shouldn’t have put it past ArenaNet.

It’s going to take so long to have multiple 80s, simply because of the amount of content there is to explore… By the time I get around to my 2nd or 3rd character, I’ll be running through newly designed Dynamic Events.

Ah, the wait is almost over…

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/ITHF7XKYGVXFAPCDMDJTKHLBBU Lian Wan

Have you seen the flowchart for the War in Kryta quest chain for GW1? :)

    • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

The web Dynamic Events sound very ambitious.  They should be technically amazing.

  • Cyclops07

Never thought I would say this, but Unicorn Bow? Shooting Rainbows? Ok I love the idea, sounds so hokey its cool. Would love to have one. I don’t think the addition of these “legendary” items is their endgame. The game itself is the endgame. This is another cool feature Anet has obviously been working on all along that we are just now finding out about. I’m sure there will be lots more stuff they will drop on us before release.

    • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

No, they clearly indicated what is the GW2 endgame.
Continue leveling to gain skill points, use skill points as currency (I think)
      Run 5 man dungeons
      Run Dynamic Events
Run Dynamic Events on Orr (No hearts on Orr)
      Earn a Legendary

      • Old Ben

And how is that different from the rest of the game? Plus, you forgot PvP, WvW, jumping puzzles, renown hearts (they’re still available at 80), crafting, getting new gear, dyes, pets, skills (you won’t have them all as soon as you hit 80), gaining influence for your guild, etc. (all of which are also available at lower levels).

The only difference is that, as your level gets higher, you will be able to survive in harder zones, against tougher enemies.

        • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

Hmmm,  except for sPVP and WvW, the rest is part of the journey, but it’s not end game.   Sure, if you are a completionist, you go back and fill any holes.  But, that’s not endgame either.

I listed the gaining skills past 80 as endgame. (Edit: Not so sure anymore, might be part of mat grinding.)
Not so sure about renown hearts at level 80, the video did mention Orr did not have hearts.

Really, the end game for GW2 PVE is completing all the Dungeons.

But, let’s be careful, I think this is going to be very, very difficult and not everyone is going to have the skill necessary to finish the dungeons. So, unless Arenanet plans on nerfing the dungeons at some point. Not everyone is going to finish the game.  But, that’s okay.

          • Old Ben

Sigh… Looks like you really can’t think beyond WoW’s mechanics.

          • dawolv

             You’re right Dularr,
it’s part of the journey, the thing is, the journey never ends.
Soo, ya you’re right, there is no endgame.
Go get your money back and play Tera/WoW/SWTOR
because if you can’t think of endgame as a completely different thing than everything you did during leveling, you won’t have fun here!

Although, I don’t know why you even bought it then. It’s not like they have been quite about this or tried to hide it. They pretty much screamed it from the mountaintops

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/ITHF7XKYGVXFAPCDMDJTKHLBBU Lian Wan

You are right, it’s not THE endgame. These are just additions. As they’ve been saying all along(and have said again in the video), the whole game is the endgame. :)

  • http://twitter.com/Thompesen Thomas K K Pedersen

People need to understand that we aren´t paying for exstra content every month. We can NOT expect content after lvl 80 when the game is actually finish… YOU CANT expect the game to continue 4ever just because its a MMO. YOU DONT pay for that..

    • http://www.kaiketsu.enjin.com/ Corey “Crimzen”

       what?

      • http://twitter.com/Thompesen Thomas K K Pedersen

I´m not saying they wont. I´m saying that people should stop complaining

        • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

You did notice Eric say the game could go on forever.   The key is if their business model is successful, they can keep a larger live team that creates additional content.

I’ve got no problem buying a few gems in the cash shop, so I can keep my Charr Elementalist funded in WvW.   Do not want my Charr to run around naked on the Eternal Battlefield.

      • http://profile.yahoo.com/ITHF7XKYGVXFAPCDMDJTKHLBBU Lian Wan

or Ultima Online and EverQuest :)
Latest EQ expansion was released November 2011.

    • Old Ben

It doesn’t matter if a company makes money from a subscription or from a cash shop; they’re always under the same amount of pressure to keep people interested. If you don’t play the game, you won’t buy from the cash shop, so they don’t make any money.

The option between a game with a subscription or without is simply a commercial one. If having no subscription gets them a player base that is 3x as big, then each person only needs to spend (on average) 1/3rd the price of a monthly subscription to match the profits.

A larger player base also increases the profits from expansions, and from sale of the game itself. If they sell (for example) 3 million units of the game ($60) plus 3 million units of the first expansion ($30), that’s $270 million. If they only had 1 million players they would only make $90 million from sales, plus $180 million in subscriptions ($15 a month). In other words, assuming one expansion per year, they’d make exactly the same amount of money. The difference is that, with the first model, there would be 3 million potential cash shop clients, whereas in the second there would only be 1 million. Also, because the former weren’t paying a subscription, they would be more likely to spend money at the cash shop.

It’s just the most profitable model for new games, in the current (saturated) market.

P.S. – I know they don’t get to keep 100% of the money, but that applies to all the sales (game, subscription, cash shop and expansions), so it’s not relevant for the comparison, assuming a similar margin in all of them.

  • DerKomp

After seeing their video, I think maybe their skill selection tiering had something to do with this. It looks like you will be spending and still earning a lot of skill points at lvl 80 for mystic forge components that make things (possibly another tier of component) for legendaries. I think the skill tiers make sure that you spend more points before you get to 80 rather than stockpiling all points after buying 3 skills and 1 elite.

    • Old Ben

Even without the tiers, they could simply have made it impossible to buy items at the forge until you have all your skills unlocked.

It only takes 13 skill points to buy 3 utility skills and 1 elite, anyway (if you pick skills from tier 1).

      • DerKomp

Yeah, but they didn’t make it impossible. They made it a “choice” in the MMO sense of the word. That’s not my tinfoil hat talking. I really do think a skill point sink is a good idea seeing as how they should tune legendaries to take as long as they think is necessary without cutting fun stuff like 100 skill challenges. I also respect them for giving someone the opportunity to make a bad choice and have only 3 tier one skills.

        • Old Ben

My point was just that the tiering is independent from other uses that the skill points might have.

And they’re not giving people “an opportunity”, they’re _forcing_ everyone to buy (at least 5) tier 1 skills whether they want to or not, before they can get a chance to buy tier 2 skills (and again for tier 3). This after telling us that “no skills are better than any other, it’s just a matter of personal preference”. Now they’re effectively saying “tier 3 skills are better but we’re going to force you to buy 10 other skills that you don’t really want – and probably won’t ever use again – before we’ll let you have those”.

The original system was much better. They just needed to get rid of a few boring skills and tweak the others so that all skills were appealing and picking them really was a matter of “personal preference and play style”.

RAINBOW UNICORN BOW! Please excuse me while I role a ranger…

    • http://www.facebook.com/jonathan.hornsby.7 Jonathan Hornsby

Thieves and warriors can also use a bow. My ranger is going to be using that ultimate great sword.

      • ThnagglePuth

If it’s classed as a longbow, only rangers and warriors can use it .. if shortbow, only rangers and thieves.  At least that’s what the wiki is saying.

        • dawolv

Yap, they said it’s a shortbow, so it’s only gonna be usable by Rangers and Thiefs.

          • Jay

I’m rolling Thief first, I wonder if there will be rainbow pistols too…

I hope not though. I rather have 2 dragon heads that spit fire!

Ok, Is it just me or have dews been watching “Meet The Pyro” Way too many times before designing this weapon?

          • http://profile.yahoo.com/ITHF7XKYGVXFAPCDMDJTKHLBBU Lian Wan

Well I’ve never seen that video. I’ve only heard about it from various places.

          • dawolv

They probably had it b4 Valve released it

      • http://www.facebook.com/liam.is.teh.bestist Liam Gormley

Yeah it’s the shortbow so rangers or thieves only, and I don’t think a thief would really be suited to rainbows and unicorns haha. Wonder what the legendary longbow’s like? Bet it’s not as cool as rainbow/unicorn lol, poor warriors :(

I’ll be playing a guardian with the day and night greatsword as my main <3 but i'll definitely be making a ranger alt with the sole purpose of getting my hands on this rainbow unicorn bow thingymajaba.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/ITHF7XKYGVXFAPCDMDJTKHLBBU Lian Wan

They only mentioned shooting a rainbow, no unicorn involved.

      • http://www.facebook.com/liam.is.teh.bestist Liam Gormley

They mentioned unicorns too. The Bow shoots arrows with a rainbow trail, but Eric and Colin mentioned a unicorn head in the design, not sure if they were referring to the bows design or the arrow design, but there will definitely be unicorn heads somewhere on this bow xD

        • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

Eric said the Unicorn was on the front, I’m guessing now that’s the front of the bow not the rainbow.

          • http://www.facebook.com/liam.is.teh.bestist Liam Gormley

Yeah I couldn’t remember what he said about it exactly, just that there were definitely unicorns, definitely rainbows and it’s definitely going to be awesome! lol. Unicorns on the front of the bow sounds good to me anyway ^_^

    • http://www.facebook.com/liam.is.teh.bestist Liam Gormley

Just noticed that I misspelled roll… Woops, with all the rainbows and unicorns occupying my mind spelling became somewhat less of a priority :)

      Rainbow unicorn bow <3

What they don’t already have your money.  What are you thinking.

      • http://www.facebook.com/mert.matthews.3 Mert Matthews

Are you kidding me even my grandma and unborn kids have this game, In game shop is what i mean, not having it after seeing this… is complete madness

Where as it is good to know that there is going to be an endgame to GW2 it will still not be over e.i. new stuff being added all time. (maybe expantion later).  A person can started a new prof and
away you go again. How long this take is any ones guess but not a week or two.
As for getting new and rare items, I say great and even more so being one can not buy them from other folks or the Gem shop (at least at this point time).
It is good to see the folks at A-Net  have taken the good points from GW1 and put them into GW2 with changes in the way you have to get them (not by luck but with hard work {game
    play}).
It looks like a game of many hours of play and fun time for all.

  • http://www.facebook.com/liam.is.teh.bestist Liam Gormley

Even if it looks like that I still want it o.o

I mean come on, it shoots RAINBOWS!!! :D

    • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

really, it shoots rainbows.  shouldn’t that be a holiday item.

  • http://www.facebook.com/kevin.cox.5817 Kevin Cox

I love what GW2 is doing with Legendaries. I’m a caster in WoW and I was excited at first when I discovered the quest line that led to my staff but then I realized how many times I’d have to run the Firelands in order to acquire the mats to make it and even then I’d have to roll against other casters for those mats.

At that point it’s not even about grinding. It’s about racing against the clock (and your patience) to get a legendary weapon before the next tier of content makes it obsolete. Transmog helps preserve the aeshetic but it’s about more than that I’d say, plus most other staves look cooler with a simple power surge enchant anyway which is something EVERYONE has so where’s the “legendary” status?

Probably hidden behind the amount of hours spent grinding to get a weapon you’ll probably never use.

    I love you Arenanet/NCsoft

    • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

Got to figure the legendary weapons in GW2 will take a really long time.  Or you end up with everyone having one.

      • dawolv

They said you will have to be good at different (multiple) parts of the game, so if you need to get WvW + Dungeon + Crafting stuff and s.o. hates PvP, he might not even bother trying. Which is a good thing to “rare” the items “out” :D
