ArenaNet Tweaks Dungeon Rewards (Again) In Guild Wars 2
12 Comments

If you’re still lamenting how long it’ll take you to earn rewards in Guild Wars 2 dungeons, ArenaNet feels your pain. Well, if you’re willing to do explorable mode dungeons to earn your gear, that is.

Today’s patch notes center around dungeon rewards, and there’s a glimmer of hope for hardcore farmers:

mmorpg guild wars 2 mmorpg Moar Lootz!Dungeons reward 20 tokens for completion and now reward an additional 40 tokens for the first time they are completed each day. This means that if players can complete all 3 chains of a dungeon in a day, they’ll receive a total of 180 tokens, which is enough to purchase some of the smaller rewards.

At this rate, a full set of armor could be acquired in a little over a week — or, if you’re not quite that hardcore and only want to do one dungeon run per day, three to four weeks. Seems reasonable.

You’ll have to do the whole dungeon, though; tokens are only handed out at the end of the run, so no farming the first boss.

Various class and other content fixes were also included in the patch notes, including a few more difficulty tweaks and bug fixes on personal story steps and dungeons and the removal of loot drops from enemies in tutorials.

Really, though, if you feel the need to stay in the tutorial to farm loot… just delete your account now.

Still broken. Being “fixed”….again. Meanwhile, Mop sales are probably going to be helped by Anet’s patches.

That’s good. If someone wants to farm the same dungeon at a bigger rate than this please just uninstall GW2 and go mop or whatever else they want. Leave gw2 for us that enjoy it.

Yet another non 80 talking about the joys of GW2.

When you reach max level and you realize that any form of farming..you know ..retaining gold, the thing you need because EVERYTHING in the game costs… is non existent due to yet another form of anti botting  or anti speed running or anti fun or whatever….then we can talk on the subject.

Maybe you can just read the first 20 or so thousand posts on the official forums in the meantime.

hello fruit cake. 1 dungeon run on a new path gives 26 silver. The longest Waypoint moving costs i think 5-6 silver, all damaged gear on my level 80 is 11 silver so. Even if i die 7 times in a dungeon run i will still make nearly 10 silver a run and thats without drops, next point most events give 2 silver which is average waypoint fee unless you move really far so you just dont do events then it seems. Next point why are you upset about anti botting? something you arent telling us about how you use you account?

I don’t think you got my point. I’m agreeing with you. I got to max lvl on swtor and I didn’t like what there was left for me to do, so I quitted and went to play something else. Whatever people say about swtor, I enjoyed while it lasted(for me) and I still think it was worth my money.

If you are not into Legendary items that look cool but have same stats as a white, WvW, SPvP or map/achievement/title completionist, GW2 will not hold you.

There is a lot of endgame raid/vertical gear progression that are very good, like mop you mentioned. Do it. Its good to have 2 great games for different people out there. GW2 doesn’t have to be more like mop anymore than mop needs to be like GW2, they are catering for different wants.

If you finish those things before next ow expansion, GW2 no sub is always there. Don’t think anet is doing enough? Don’t give them your money on the cash shop. It’s OK. Hope you have fun, whatever you play man.

I agree. GW2 is meant to be savored… Not rushed through and bragged about.

Tutorial mobs drop bags you see that have crafting mats for 1st tier crafting that’s why people was farming them.

Actually, I have 5 characters total, and 4 are currently active … I’m still in Caledon Forest with my lowest (a sylvari), simply because I want to complete the area before moving on … and then I’ll do Queensdale, Wayfarer Foothills, Metrica Province, etc., etc., not so much to be loot farming, but to experience the game.  Somewhere along the line I recall it being preached that this was ONE game we could play OUR way, and I fully intend to do so, whether Jason Winter, Mike O’Brien, or anyone else approves, so to be honest, Jason, I really don’t give a flying rat’s ass whether you or anyone else thinks I’m lingering too long in the starter areas.

They weren’t referring to the starting area, they mean the first intro before you fight the first boss, like before you awake from the dream as a sylvari.

The game is Full of bots atm with teleporting hacks and they are worry about people speed farming dungeons when we are not hacking?

Lvl 80 Engineer with 86% world completion, havn’t finished my personal story yet, but I have killed the shatterer, Tequat’l and the claw of jormag. I Recently arrived  In the Risen Island of Orr and am currently in the first of three area’s trying to get my way trough. It took me 168 hours to do while crafting, doing a couple of dungeons, trying out WvW and having a blast.

Please tell me how wrong I am playing the game I’m enjoying Jason ;)
